Ladies and gentlemen, honored guests, esteemed faculty, and enthusiastic students,

it is my distinct pleasure to introduce to you a luminary in the field of engineering

education, Professor Dr. Nitin Savagave.

Professor Savagave's illustrious journey in academia has been marked by a relentless

pursuit of knowledge and a remarkable commitment to excellence. He earned his
Ph.D. from Shivaji University, Kolhapur, in 2013, a testament to his academic
prowess. His thirst for knowledge didn't stop there – he holds a Diploma in Local
Environment Management, awarded by the Swedish government, showcasing his
global perspective.

Further enriching his academic arsenal, Professor Savagave earned an MBA from
Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University in 2009, and a PGDM from
Welingkar Institute of Management, Mumbai. His academic journey began with a
Bachelor's in Engineering from Shivaji University, Kolhapur, in 1986, followed by
a Master's in Engineering in 1997 from the same esteemed institution.

Professor Savagave's impact on education spans over 26 years at Walchand College

of Engineering, Sangli, where he served as a professor and Head of the Department
since 1986. His leadership roles extended to M.D. Hadhav Institute of Technology,
Bhose, where he held positions as Principal for three years starting in 2013, and later
as Director for 1.5 years since 2016.

His contributions to education have not gone unnoticed, as evidenced by the

numerous awards he has received. Professor Savagave has been recognized as the
Best Sportsman by Sudhana Krioda Mandal, Kurundwad, and honored as the Best
Teacher by the Indian Behare Charitable Trust, Pune. He has also been
acknowledged as the Best Engineer by Engineers and Associations, Sangli. His
dedication to community and environmental welfare earned him the prestigious
Rashtra Vibhushan from the Accelerated Community Environment, New Delhi, and
the Sahadri Gaurav Award by Hutatma Bahudeshiya Vikas Kalyankari Karad.
Beyond his academic endeavors, Professor Savagave has held pivotal positions in
public service. He has served as the Mayor of Sangli Miraj Kupwad City
Corporation, demonstrating his commitment to civic leadership.

In his current role, Professor Savagave holds the esteemed position of Director and
Principal, and he is a member of the Board of Studies at Shivaji University,
Kolhapur. His multifaceted contributions have earned him the Navaratn Award by
the Maharashtra Rajya Patrakar Sangh.
