Hytera PMR Coverage Extension Solution

Overview
PMR base station signal coverage from traditional single location outdoor antenna will be facing building penetration loss and it is difficult to fully
cover indoor area. The typical indoor areas include skyscraper, shopping mall, transportation junction, metro or tunnel, underground parking, elevator,
etc.

Skyscraper Shopping Mall Transportation junction

Metro or Tunnel Underground parking Elevator

Hytera provide bi-directional amplifier and distributed antenna system solution to extend the PMR base station coverage into the indoor areas.

Typical Solution
A typical solution for skyscraper:

This solution could extend the base station signal to underground car parking area, elevator, multi-floor indoor area by using distributed optical
fiber BDA, Yagi antenna, ceiling antenna and necessary passive RF elements.
A typical solution for small buildings:

This solution will include integrated BDA, ceiling antenna and necessary passive RF elements for single building with few floors.

A typical solution for tunnel:

This solution will include distributed optical fiber BDA, radiant cables, Yagi antenna and necessary passive RF elements for tunnels and metro stations.

A typical solution for stadium:

This solution will include distributed optical fiber BDA, penal antenna and necessary passive RF elements for different part of the stadium.
Base station:
Various PMR base stations such as analogue PMR/MPT, digital DMR conventional/trunked, TETRA, etc. could act as the signal source of the coverage
extension solution.

BDA(Bi-Directional Amplifier):
BDA classification:
– BDAs are classified under a number of criteria:
– Transmission mode – wireless (integrated) or fibre (distributed)
– Band or channel selective
– Wireless or direct coupling
– Hytera offer two BDA series products (DS-9300 and TS-9200) to meet the above classifications
– Selection of the type depends on the requirements

DS-9300:

DS–9300 Highlights
– Easy to deploy: DS–9300 Is small, light–weight, with flexible mounting options
– UHF: DS–9300 supports 400–470MHz
– Excellent out-of-band rejection:
the DS–9300 starts signal rejection from 50KHz, which provides excellent rejection of out-of-band signals, which enhances coverage and voice quality
– Excellent intermodulation attenuation: for the DS–9300, 8 carriers deliver –45dBc Intermodulation attenuation which is effective in eliminating the interference of intermodulation
signals. This helps to provide better coverage and voice quality
TS-9200:

TS–9200 Highlights
– Integrated and distributed: TS–9200 offers both options
– VHF: TS–9200 supports VHF (136–174MHz) and UHF (Integrated model only) (350–520MHz)
– Channel and band select variants: TS–9200 supports both options
– Analogue fiber: some TS–9200 BDAs can be connected with analogue fiber

Flexible Network Topology Options

Distributed BDAs can offer a number of different network topology options to suit the best distribution of the signals dependent on the coverage
requirement.
