Port Pauline

Home of Pegleg Pepe and the Pirate Parrots

A location for the Rittermarch Jam

By Juan Carlos Hernández
Tucked in a little cove surrounded by steep cliff sit the overturned remains of
the Pauline, an ancient Titan ship. It’s here where Pegleg Pepe and his fierce
band of pirate parrots have built Port Pauline, their base of operations for
preying on travelelrs, seafaring merchants, and even other Pirate bands.
With their ship, the Percyval Since their formation, the Pirate Parrots have
rapidly expanded their territory along the coast, and their control of large
sections of the sea has become a concern for most other seafaring groups.
However, Pepe’s control of his own crew might not be as strong as he thinks.

The Percyval

The Percyval is the ship of Pegleg Pepe’s crew. It’s scrapped together from different
objects left by the Titans of old. The Percyval has a navigational advantage over other
naval vessels: it can fly for short periods of time by being turned into a hot air balloon.
It takes the crew one turn to transform the ship between its two forms.

mutiny against him.

Being an orange-chinned parakeet, Pepe is a lot
smaller, weaker and less physically imposing than the
rest of his crew, but is respected and feared by them
due to his cunning, charisma and leadership; as well
as his apparently magical ability to control the wind.
Joining the crew
If the players ask for work around the port or spend time socializing with the
pirates, they might learn that Pepe needs help dealing with a problem. If they
manage to help, Pepe will consider them worthy of joining his crew.

d6 Pepe needs help with...

1 Smuggling some pillaged cargo to a contact in an in-land city
2 Tracking down a treasonous crew member who ran off with a
treasure map
3 Finding out who’s stealing from the treasure room
4 Freeing a valuable crew member who got arrested in a nearby
town
5 Locating the hideout of a rival pirate crew
6 Recovering some valuable cargo that got stolen by rival pirates

Mutiny
If the players join the crew, and Paula likes them, she might eventually promise
them a large portion of the treasure contained in the tresure room in exchange for
helping out her mutiny efforts. If she fails at persuading the crew into a mutiny,
she might ask the players for help stealing the Captain’s Sword.

Items
Captain’s Sword:
The magic sword wielded by Pegleg Pepe. For parrots it counts as a
one-handed sword, for mice it counts as a heavy two-handed sword.
It allows the wielder to control the general direction of the wind,
which gives the Percyval a huge advantage when pursuing other
ships. Once per turn, it can create a huge gust of wind identical to
the “Wind” crow song.
Only Pepe and Paula know that the sword is the source of Pepe’s
powers.
