➢ Did you have children?

No, In 1930 I got pregnant for the first time. However, due to the abnormal position of the fetus and
the aftermath of the accident of 1925, the pregnancy of three months should have been interrupted.
But I never lost hope of a second pregnancy.

➢ How was the accident that marked your life?

On September 17, 1925, I suffered a serious accident when the bus in which I was traveling was hit
by a tram, being crushed against a wall and completely destroyed. I was leaving school to house
with Alejandro Gómez Arias, my boyfriend at the time. My spine was fractured in three parts and I
had at least 32 operations throughout my life.

➢ Have you lived only in Mexico?

no, together with my husband, I lived in the United States for four years, between 1930 and 1934.
My husband prospered and found great success in artistic circles.

➢ who were the loves that inspired me to paint?

The loves that inspired me to paint were Diego Rivera, my husband, and León Trotski with whom I
had a secret relationship and I dedicated a self-portrait to him.

My Favourite food is “mole” and “Huazontles”

➢ Who were your inspiration?

my inspiration was André Bretón, icon of surrealism and Dolores del Río, Mexican actress

si, fui paste del partido comunista por que no me gustaban las injusticias
