Theoretical Framework

Adventure tourism is an activity that has become popular in recent years due to its
excitement and adrenaline. However, it can also be dangerous and it is important
to be aware of the risks associated with this type of tourism.
Regarding the theory of the most dangerous activities in adventure tourism, they
can be analyzed from different disciplines:
1. Sociology: From a sociological perspective, it is possible to analyze how
adventure tourism activities are perceived by tourists and what motivations lead
them to carry out these activities. Additionally, you can evaluate how gender roles,
social class, culture, and personality affect participation in these activities.
2. Psychology: From psychology, it is possible to evaluate how the personality of
tourists, their ability to deal with stressful situations and their tolerance for risk,
affect their probability of participating in dangerous activities. Furthermore, it can
be studied how danger perception can affect tourists' decision making.
3. Geography: From geography, you can study how the natural environment
where these activities are carried out and the characteristics of the place, such as
altitude, topography and weather conditions, influence the probability of risks.

Adventure tourism activities can be classified based on their level of risk. High-risk
activities are those that carry a significant risk of injury or death. These activities
typically require a high level of experience and training, and are often performed
with appropriate equipment and supervision.
Moderate risk activities are those that carry a lower risk of injury or death. These
activities can be performed by people with an appropriate level of fitness and
experience.
Low-risk activities are those that carry a very low risk of injury or death. These
activities can be done by people of all levels of fitness and experience.

Human risk factors include:

Lack of experience: Lack of experience in an adventure tourism activity can
increase the risk of accidents.
Negligence: Negligence, such as not following safety instructions, can increase
the risk of accidents.
Stress: Stress can cause mistakes and accidents.

affect the tourist area).
