IET was established by the Government of
U.P in 1984, for imparting engineering
education and for promoting technological
research to generate suitable technical
manpower. The Institute is financed by government
of Uttar Pradesh and is being administered by the
executive council of AKTU.

ACADEMIC BLOCK
The campus is self-sustained and is well
equipped with requisite amenities to
meet the needs of an Institute such
as digital classrooms of different
capacities, laboratories, central
digital library, Air-conditioned
conference hall, dispensary, seminar hall.

LIBRARY
Digital Library-Our 'advanced' college library is
not only equipped with a wide variety of books
but also with computer systems with good
internet connectivity enabling a large number
of students to avail the most out of traditional
learning as well as digital learning. In a nutshell,
currently, it is having over 123000+ volumes of
Technical, General books, Computer Systems
and also has resources like popular magazines
print journals, Institute project reports & theses.

COMPUTER LABS
The auditorium can accommodate more than 800

The auditorium can accommodate more than 800

Each Department is having a special Lab
making them unique among themselves:-

The Applied Science Department has well-equipped

Chemistry and Physics LABs.
The mechanical department has a Workshop to
enhance the practical experience for 1st-year students.
ECE Department has Robotics LAB for advanced
project purposes.
EE Department has Tesla Hall that can be used as a
departmental library, GD room, and for many other
technical purposes.
CSE Department has Digital LABs.

HOSTEL FACILITY
The Institute campus houses 8 hostels
for boys and 5 for girls. The hostels are WiFi/Lan
enabled and well equipped for comfortable lodging
and boarding of the students. A Bank in the college
premises itself, Dispensary for medical care &
Canteen facilities on the campus add
to the state-of-the-art infrastructure.

SPORTS COMPLEX
The role of sports in keeping the young engineers fit and
active is immense. A sports complex with all the modern
amenities is under construction at IET. This particular sports
complex on campus is being constructed keeping in mind
that the students and faculty members should get effortless
access to sports. The Sports Complex will be having a football
ground, a cricket field, a lawn tennis court, basketball, and
volleyball courts, running track, etc. It will also have a
multipurpose hall to cater to different indoor sports.

STUDENT LIFE
IET provides an environment that nurtures leaders in addition to sound engineers. Notwithstanding the
tight academic schedule that students have, they manage to indulge in various extra-curricular activities. A
host of activities ranging from collaborative learning, managing national level festivals to handling facilities
like hostel mess and infrastructure are completely managed by students. These activities provide a
multitude of holistic improvement platforms for students to hone their technical and managerial skills,
which are imperative for one to excel in his/her workplace.

FRACTAL
Fractal is an active community of students and alumni to
form a hyper-competitive workspace in the field of
programming The students are consistently involved in
participating in regular programming challenges on different
platforms as Hacker Earth, International platforms like ACM-
ICPC (ranked 39th in Asia region), and Microsoft quantum
(ranked 248th worldwide). The dedication and discipline of
fractal has brought our institute to 17th position worldwide
on SPOJ.

SAE
SAE Collegiate Club is a club under the Student Activity Center
(SAC) of IET Lucknow promoting activities related to automotive
engineering. Some of its major achievements are :
2016 - Overall second in “Ecokart Series 2016 Virtual Round “
2019 - Overall Winners in “Go-Kart Design Challenge 2019
(125cc)"
2020 - Overall 5th position in “ Go-Kart Design Challenge
2020(150cc)”

ROBOTICS
IET is growing day by day to inspire and enable students to
explore their creativity and engineering skills through robotics.
One of the teams of the robotics club has upgraded the club by
winning the E-yantra competition organized by IIT Bombay. Two
teams became the finalists for E-yantra, 2020. A team of 3 rd
year students bagged 1st position in “Smart India Hackathon”,
2019. The students of this club have marked their presence as
the winners in “Robowars” too held in IIT Patna and IIT BHU.

E-CELL
The Entrepreneurship Cell is run by the students of IET Lucknow. To
mold these ideas into successful ventures and spread awareness
about the same. It aims to inculcate the spirit of entrepreneurship
among young minds. They try to provide adequate resources,
financial or legal, for aspiring young entrepreneurs.

PARMARTH
Parmarth is a student-driven initiative aspiring to educate the
underprivileged in the vicinity of campus. 147+ children living in
the Mohibullapur slum area have been admitted to private schools
through RTE with the efforts of this club. Student volunteers
(currently a team of 200+) organize elementary education classes
in the LT complex for 150+ such students.
Girls' education is emphasized upon and club members even
provide free home tuition to uneducated adolescent/adult
females, breaking the previously set stereotypes and creating a
brighter future for them.

WHITEBOARD
With new times came up fresher ideas and henceforth the concept
of a college media body was conceived in 2016. Christened ‘The
Whiteboard', it has been evolving rapidly ever since. Whether it's
curating content aiming to strike the balance between elaborate
jargon and convenient expressions, spurring ideas and messages
worth knowing through unique graphics, or creating fun videos
through the IET Monocle, we do it all. The team is a bunch of
creative heads constantly bubbling with ideas and knocking heads
to come up with the avant-garde.

EXCELSIOR
The name “Excelsior” itself stands for “superior quality”
and thus the members of this club consistently work hard
to refine and polish their skills to live up to that name.
The club is home to students having a passion for literature,
debating, poetry writing, creative writing,
elocution et cetera; to showcase talent. It is largely viewed as a
unique platform for all the literary
enthusiasts in IET Lucknow. Throughout the year
various events are organized by the club to foment
a nurturing atmosphere

NAKSHATRA
Nakshatra is an active community of amateur
astronomers and cosmology enthusiasts,
based in Institute of Engineering & Technology,
Lucknow and affiliated under Indira Gandhi
Planetarium, Lucknow. This Club organize lecture sessions,
discussions and observation sessions along with a few
competitive events throughout the year. It is answered
through theories of quantum physics and relativity or
even to those who just like observing the beautiful night
sky and heavenly bodies, which have captured human
imagination for centuries.

Fests and Events

PARAKRAM
The annual techno-management festival of IET,
Parakram is a summit of the theoretical and practical
aspects of engineering with exposure to the latest trends
and innovations. Attracting participants from all over the state,
It hosts workshops, guest lectures conducted by the best in
the industry and academia, coding, robotics events, paper
presentations, and various other events.

SHAURAYOTSAV
Shauryotsava, The annual sports fest of IET Lucknow offers
wide scope for the students to excel in the domain of sports
and games. The students play a wide variety of sports and
games such as Cricket, Football, Badminton, Basketball,
Table tennis, Volleyball, Chess, Lawn Tennis, Athletics, etc.

TEDx IET LUCKNOW

TEDx- an independently organized event is
a unique blend of experience and future
expectation conjoined to give rise to incredible
and indelible talks that inspire millions. The first
TED event was held IN 2k19 in college
marking the presence of numerous known
personalities from various fields.

PRAVAH
Uttar Pradesh, a state enriched with the mesmerizing history of
bilingual cultures, be it literature, music, arts, drama, or cinema.
The gems of our state flow along the banks on MAA GANGA. Born
out of these shared values that our tradition dictates us is the AKTU
- Arts & cultural fest, PRAVAH.
The only city in the state to boast of a functional metro-rail system.
The capital of Uttar Pradesh is no less when it comes to a vivid
portrayal of history, culture, and modern leisure. The Chikankari, the
Nawabi cuisine the mesmerizing parks, and the Lucknawi accent, all
go into making the present-day Awadh a must-have on your
checklists.

ENCORE
The Cultural Festival of the institute, ENCORE has been
a perennial feature of the city of Lucknow poised in its
own unique way between the pedestals of industry
and civilization. It’s a celebration of the human
spirit, thoughts, and ideas. The thousands of people
that are drawn in by some of the biggest celebrities
and crowd pullers make ENCORE one of the biggest
cultural events in the northern region.

HULT PRIZE
Hult Prize is a highly sought after year long annual
competition that crowd sources ideas from college
students all around the globe on social
entrepreneurship. Along with full-fledged
international exposure for each participant,
the winner is awarded 1 Million dollars to incubate
the idea that could impact millions. It is
perhaps the only competition that is
committed to incubate ideas of college students.
The Hult Prize has four rounds which are ,

ACHIVEMENTS
Hon'ble Education Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar
presented IET with India Excellence Award 2017' as
the best govt. engineering college in North India.
IET is one of the few colleges in UP identified under
Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme
TEQIP Phase 3 for the transformation of the technical
Education System in India in partnership with the
World Bank.
The Department of Civil Engineering is approved as
the State Technical Agency for Pradhan Mantri Gram
Sadak Yojana, by both the Central and State
Government.
Paper titled "Bending of Light near a Star
Gravitational Red/Blue Shift & Black-Hole" was
presented by Dr. RC Gupta (Professor Mechanical
Engineering) at International Conference on
Relativistic Astrophysics at Stanford University, US.
IET Lucknow served as the host for the AKTU's
Annual State Level Cultural fest 'Pravah' and Tech-
fest 'Abhigyan'.
Regional winner at "HULT PRIZE" 2020. winning team
Unique O, presented the idea of transforming the
ubiquitous “dhabas”; small, humble eateries on Indian
highways frequented by domestic travelers by
transforming them into a trustworthy hygienic entity.

PLACEMENT PROCEDURE
*as per students placement policies

The Placement Season begins in the month of July and

goes up till June of the following year - For example:
from July ‘18 to June ‘19

Invitations with the placement timeline and other

relevant information are sent out to organizations by
the Placement Cell from the month of March.

Post intimation by a company and submitting the JNF, a

list of interested candidates fulfilling the company's
criteria is prepared.

The tentative date for the company's visit is scheduled

based on the package offered by the company. After
receiving a confirmation, the cell arranges for a Pre-
Placement Talk.

The company conducts their selection procedure and

shortlist students for the interview process. The results
are typically announced on the same day.

Students receiving confirmation letters are reserved for

the concerned company and are not allowed to sit in
any further recruitment drive.*
