English curriculum: Additional “Meeting”

Dear students,
Assalaamu ‘alaikum wr wb,
As agreed last time, today I will tell some points.
1. According to our schedule, Tuesday, November 17 was Meeting 12, (Reviewing Text
Types), and the week before, you should have got the scheduled Midterm Test. However,
I decided to delay till next week November 24.
2. The Midterm Test is an open-book test, therefore, you can prepare all sources/references
you need. The test will not ask you to answer questions of memorization of concepts, but
the application of your knowledge about a concept, an interpretation of given concepts,
your opinion, and many others. It will last as scheduled, 13:10 – 15:45.
3. Today, I will ask you to answer your friends’ questions (as posted in WA) and my
question in pairs. Class captain (Deni), please select the pair randomly. Submit your
answer no later than 21:00 this evening. Be sure to write the two names at the top right of
the paper. Send it to official email nur.mukminatien.fs@um.ac.id

PAIRWORK
1. How do we evaluate “standar process” and standar pengelolaan as stated in Standards of
National Education (BSNP).
(To make it easy, you start with definitions of the terms, and then think of the indicators
based the explanation in BSNP)
2. In Pasal 31 UU No 20 tahun 2003, Distance learning should be supported with
appropriate assessment system to ensure the quality of graduates meet the SNP.
(Start with definition of assessment).
3. In the syllabus that you read last time, the column of KI 1 and KI 2 are usually empty.
My questions are:
a. How can you develop KI? Who is responsible for developing the students’ religious
value ? What are the indicators of KI 1. How do you assess it? Write 4 indicators for
each KI.
b. What is your suggestion to develop KI 2?
c. As a teacher of English, what contribution can you make to develop KI 1 and KI 2?
Give an example.

KI 1: Menghargai dan menghayati ajaran agama yang dianutnya
KI 2: Menghargai dan menghayati perilaku jujur, disiplin,
tanggungjawab, peduli (toleransi, gotong royong), santun, percaya diri,
dalam berinteraksi secara efektif dengan lingkungan sosial dan alam dalam
jangkauan pergaulan dan keberadaannya.
