A Busy October Night for the Spirit Wardens

Magistrate Lord Dunville has been killed in a duel with an
unknown combatant. The duel took following a Masquerade
Ball in Doskvol last night.
The annual ball hosted by Lady Elisabeth Merkel was brim-
ming with high society. Lord Dunville’s second, Marcus Vil-
lenar stated that Lord Dunville had stepped in to defend the
honor of an unknown Lady, when he was killed with a single
blow in a duel with a masked stranger.
The stranger left the party before he could be questioned by
the Bluecoats but a Bluecoat Sergeant confirmed the duel was
fully licensed and all correct procedures had been followed.
The Bluecoats are not expecting to follow up the death.
Rumours suggest that the death may not be all that it seems
and possibly orchestrated by one of the many enemies Lord
Dunville has acquired during his time as a Magistrate.
Stranger still a serving girl at the party stated that she
knew death was stalking someone at the party that night. She
claimed to have seen a shadow like hound prowling the party
floor earlier.
The Spirit Wardens confirmed the successful disposal of
Lord Dunville’s remains, and the Dunville family have asked
for privacy at this time while they pay their respects.
Lord Dunville is succeeded by his Son, Thomas.
Explosion in Crowsfoot
The busy night for the spirit wardens continued last night
when an explosion rocked Crowsfoot. A sparkwrights work-
shop erupted in flame when an experiment went wrong. By-
standers described a 100ft pillar of flame erupting from the
workshop with debris scattered over the adjacent streets.
Minimal civilian injuries were reported but the Spirit War-
dens and Sparkwrigths guild confirmed the death of 3 Spark-
wrights and 2 apprentices.
The cause of the explosion is unknown, Investigations con-
tinue.

Sailors on the Leviathan Hunter Chimeria re-
ported seeing a strange ghostly Leviathan hunter
ship outside of Doskvol’s lightening Barriers last
night.
The Chimeria was returning from a hunting
expedition and upon approaching the lighting
barriers the crew reported seeing a ghostly ship
in the distance.
The crew described the vessel as an ancient
pre-steam leviathan hunter vessel. It vanished
into the mists before they could investigate fur-
ther.
Several members of the crew have refused to
go back to sea, given the horrors the crew are ex-
posed to when Leviathan hunting they must have
been deeply affected by the experience.
Professor Ernest Hermanic at the Charterhall
University believes this ship may be the Vengeful
an early Leviathan hunter vessel lost over a hun-
dred years ago.
Numerous reports of the Vessel’s appearance
have been recorded over the years and a few fool-
hardy explorers have even attempted to track the
vessel down in the hope of salvaging her.

Prisoners Escape Ironhook Prison

The bluecoats are warning people living in
Charhollow to be on their guard following the
escape of a number of dangerous convicts from
Ironhook Prison.
Eleven Prisoners escaped into Charhollow fol-
lowing a Prison Riot, a further six prisoners and
two guards died during the riot.
The Bluecoats have increased patrols in Char-
hollow but our source informs us they are worried
that the prisoners may have already moved into
other districts.
Our source named the Keel brothers as three of
the escaped prisoners.
Readers will remember the Keel brothers were
responsible for numerous murders in an extortion
and protection scheme operated in Coalridge.

Private individuals seeking to purchase their
own small supplies of electroplasm are reporting
more and more difficulties in obtaining the ma-
terial.
Small Electroplasm dealers are reserving sup-
plies for wealthy clients and stating that the Levi-
athan hunters are providing less blood to smaller
refiners.
Rumours suggest Leviathan blood is being di-
verted from the hunters to other sources but no
one knows who or why someone is stockpiling Le-
viathan Blood.
The Ministry of Provisions declined to com-
ment although an internal source confirmed they
are investigating.
Nightbreaker Expedition

Following rumours of the disappearance of
the Captain Strangford of the Nightbreaker, First
Mate Dalmore of the Nightbreaker released this
statement from the Captain .
I would like to thank people for their concern
over my lack of involvement in Doskvol society
however my work planning the Nightbreakers
next grand expedition has consumed all my time.
I can assure you i am well and planning the
grandest of Expeditions for the Nightbreaker and
her crew, tales will be told about our exploits.
We look forward to hearing more from the
Captain on his return.
The Keel brothers were finally captured fol-
lowng a daring operation lead by Bluecoat Captain
Donovan Blake.
The fourth Keel brother Sirus was killed during
the operation and the Keel brothers have always
vowed to avenge their fallen brother, particular as
the spirit of Sirus was stolen before the Spirit War-
dens could arrive.
Captain Blake was unavailable for comment
but increased bluecoat patrols could be seen in
near his residence in Brightstone.consequist, ver-

A significant reward has been posted for infor-
mation leading to the capture of the Keel Brothers.
