The Reading Remedial Program, a collaborative effort between the local Barangay officials
and community stakeholders, aims to address the pressing issue of low literacy rates within our
community. Recognizing the critical importance of literacy in personal and community development,
this initiative seeks to empower individuals with the necessary skills to navigate an increasingly
complex world.
In the pursuit of a more inclusive and empowered community, the Reading Remedial Program
has emerged as a beacon of hope and progress. This visionary initiative, forged through the dynamic
partnership between dedicated barangay officials and engaged community members, seeks to address
a pressing concern: the need for improved literacy skills within our midst. Recognizing that literacy is
the cornerstone of personal and collective growth, this program endeavors to equip individuals of all
ages with the tools they need to navigate a world that increasingly demands proficiency in reading.
This report chronicles the journey, successes, and the collective impact that this program, backed by
the unwavering support of barangay officials, has had on the lives of participants and the broader
community.
Objectives:
1. To identify and assist individuals struggling with reading difficulties.
2. To provide targeted remedial instruction tailored to the specific needs of each participant.
3. To foster a culture of lifelong learning and a love for reading within the community.
Participants:
The program engaged a diverse group of participants, ranging all the young learners seeking
to improve their reading proficiency.
Methodology:
1. Needs Assessment:
A comprehensive assessment was conducted to identify the specific areas of reading difficulty
for each participant. This involved both quantitative measures, such as standardized reading tests, and
qualitative assessments through one-on-one interviews.
Achievements:
1. Improved Reading Proficiency:
Over the course of the program, participants showed significant improvements in their
reading skills. The average reading level increased by two grade levels among children, and adults
exhibited marked progress in comprehension and fluency.
Challenges Faced:

Limited resources posed challenges in providing diverse reading materials and instructional
aids. However, through creative partnerships with local businesses and donations from community
members, this issue was mitigated.
