Preface
This National Standard of Indonesia (SNI – Standar Nasional Indonesia) for Light Truck
Tire is a revision of SNI 06-0100-2002, Light Truck Tire and SNI 06-0100-2002/Amd.1 :
2010, Light Truck Tire, Amendment 1.
This standard has been revised to complete and adopt current standard, in deal with
dimension, marking and some additional size to adapt with latest reference.
Purpose of this standard drafting is to :
- To improve user safety aspect; and
- To adapt technology development
This standard was prepared by Technical Committee 83-01, Rubber and Plastic Industry
and has been discussed in the technical meeting and pre-consensus meeting on
December 16, 2011 in Jakarta, attended by the representatives of government,
manufacturers, customers, experts, association and other related institute.
This SNI has passed national consensus by polling on April 24 to June 24, 2012 and
extended to July 24, 2012 until being approved as a Final Draft of SNI (RASNI) to be
issued as a SNI.

Overall diameter in the table of size, dimension, rim, load and inflation pressure in
attachment D is for light truck tire with highway tread or for standard tread depth.
Whereas for heavy tread or deep tread may exceed upper limit in the table, with following
details :
For rim diameter ≤ 14 inch, overall diameter may exceed up to 1.5% of upper limit
For rim diameter ≥ 15 inch, overal diameter may exceed up to 1% of upper limit.

6.1 Dimension test
6.1.1 Preparation
Mount the tire on the test rim, which is determined in the table of size, dimension, rim,
load and inflation pressure (attachment D), then inflate with the air pressure on single
maximum load as specified in load/inflation pressure table.
Keep sample tire in the room with temperature of 20°C – 30°C for at least 24 hours. Then
readjust the air pressure to the initial pressure. If size of tire is not included in the
attachment D, then air pressure refer to JATMA, TRA, ETRTO, STRO and TRAA.

6.3.3.5 Calculate the breaking energy for each test by the formula as follows :
W= FxP
2
Where,
W : Breaking energy (J or kgf.cm)
F : Force (N or kgf)
P : Distance of penetration (m or cm)
(J = Joule, N = Newton, m = meter, cm = centimeter, kgf = kilogram force)
6.3.3.6 The value of breaking energy is the lowest result from 4 times of the test.
6.3.3.7 For tubeless tire, if tire is broken before 4 times test completed, may use inner
tube to prevent the leakage. Then test can be continued.

then measure the overall diameter and check whether there is a damage or an
abnormally on tire.
