Work: NDT Inspection of Port Equipments

Port: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

In general, during our usual inspection process, we typically focus on examining

corner points and weld joints. However, we have now been instructed to grind and
inspect larger areas, a task that is significantly more time-consuming. This change in
procedure requires a greater allocation of manpower to effectively carry out the
inspections and complete the work within the timeframe specified by the client.".

inspection is completed in three hours.

finish.

6. Considering there are nine reach

stackers, it would take a total of nine
days to complete all inspections.

equipment at this port, including HWT,
the remaining forklifts, trucks, and
mobile cranes. Employing the same
approach would negatively affect our
time, the usage of penetrants during
inspections, and require additional
manpower.

Under usual circumstances, the standard

duration for MCH inspection is one day.
Currently, it is extended to three days.
While forklift inspections typically require
only two hours, they now demand half a
day to complete per crane. Similarly, all
equipment inspections are taking more
time under the current inspection
methodology.
