Orientation on Homeroom Guidance of Personnel and Teachers

The CIS secondary faculty has conducted meeting for Orientation of Personnel and Teachers of
Homeroom Guidance. This Revitalized Homeroom Guidance Program has still been pursued amidst the
pandemic during the present school year.

Presided by the Guidance Advocate, Mrs. Arlene P. Quinones, has tackled these agenda: (1.) Policy
Guidelines on the Implementation of Homeroom Guidance and; (2) Homeroom Guidance Most Essential
Learning Competencies (MELCs).

As we tackled the first agendum (Policy Guidelines on the Implementation of Homeroom Guidance),
these were the salient information we gathered:

1. HG is comprehensive and pro-active program design to develop the three aspects of skills in
life-long learning of K-12 learners, namely Academic Development, Personal and Social
Development and Career Development. It is part of the teachers and personnel duty to orient the
learners about this offered program.

This is the reason why it has still been pursued to implement even during this pandemic.

2. Learners’ development will be assessed through their outputs from the distributed modules and
will be attached to their cards.

It has been agreed by the meeting participants to download the Homeroom Guidance card on
every grade level adviser.

For the second and last agendum (Homeroom Guidance Most Essential Learning Competencies
(MELCs) ), the presider instructed all the advisers and the personnel the following matters:

1. Download and print the Homeroom Guidance MELCs which are already in the DepEd
Curriculum Guide.

2. Advisers should look for the availability of Homeroom Guidance Modules over the internet,
either facebook pages or google drive.

3. Grade level advisers should also prepare a letter to parents informing them about this
Revitalized Homeroom Guidance Program which must me accomplish by their children with
their help.
