Minutes Taken from Our Last General Meeting of YMCA’s Agege Alimosho Zone

held on 1st October, 2023. At ST MICHEALs ANGLICAN CHURCH (Suberu-Oje) Lagos.

1.0 Opening: The meeting commenced with opening prayer said by Bro OtunayaVictor at exactly
1pm
• YMCA anthem was jointly taken,
• Word of Exhortation/Charge: by Revd Asaju Adebayo. He said YMCA isn’t a strange society to
him, that it has been a known or familiar society which he always cherished from his early
age. Taken from Psalm 27 vs 1-2. He urged members not to be distracted or discouraged in
rendering services to others, especially the poor and the needy in our society. Also used the
opportunity to thank the Zone for the Bursary award given to a youth member of his Church
last year. In person of Tobiloba. Said the boy is now in University of Ibadan. And the Exercise
books distributed to our Children in Sunday School today. Said he’s happy with the way we are
extending hands of fellowship and love to the Church and society. Bro Ajasa thanked the Rev.
Asaju for the wonderful Charge.

2.0 Reading and Adoption of Minutes: Minute of last meeting was perused and discussed, errors
and omissions were noted and duly corrected. The Secretary Bro Adegbite appealed to the
house for not presenting September minutes, and thanked Bro Taiwo Moses (Coord’t) and Bro
Ajasa for presenting the October report. Bro Akiode David before moving for adoption said
the motion raised by Bro Sobayo on Parliatives distributed from Lagos should be revisited on
sharing formular. and was seconded by Bro Sokoya.
3.0 Matters Arising from Last Meeting:
The coordinator said Secretaries apology is accepted, but such shouldn’t happen again.
• Exercise Books Distribution: Is on going currently 9 Churches has been visited, and the rest 5
Churches will be done before the next meeting. The Coordinator said some of our Units that
have stopped coming would be visited for distribution also. Bro Dele Ojo moved for
acceptance and was jointly accepted.
• Visitation: The Coordinator said visit to St Luku AMJE. That once the date is communicated,
we would visit the members officially.
• WhatsApp Platform: We need to stop using the platform as dump site for, Musical jingles,
Unverified links, Tiktok or Youtube Videos and other social vices ie Political campaigns,
Religious quotes and personal attacks. Hence the Secretary is summoned to always scream
any post on the platform. The platform is strictly for YMCA’s information and motivational and
health talks. Any unrelated messages or posts should be brought down by the Admin. Bro
Sogunle Rotimi moved the motion after so much deliberation, and was so seconded by Bro
Ajasa Olujide. And all members present.
• YMCA Lagos / Council of Church: Every 2nd Saturday is general meeting in Lagos.
• Investiture: The President of Church Council Bro Oyeniran has been making moves, and
Feburary 11, 2024. Has been choosing for the day. Preparations are on going, there would be
transport To and Fro the venue, stationed at Ajala-Ijaye.
• Harvest: All arrangements set, our presence is most welcomed, and there would be buses
stationed at the Zonal secretariat and Iju to convey members to and fro. On October 13. The
sum of #50,000 was set aside for entertainment at the anniversary.

6.0 AOB: Correspondence from UNA Primary School St. Georges Cathedral seeks for our
sponsorship, towards their Inter-House sport. 14th November.
* The Vicar thanked the zone for donating towards the Church project. Bro Sogunle thanked the
Coordinator Bro Taiwo Moses for always coming through for the zone. And urged the
Executive to create a social fund on our budget, to lay a good precedence for others. And such
blessings must be distributed among members.
* Internal crisis in SMAC suberu oje: The Coordinator called all parties involved Bro Otunaya,
Bro Sobayo and The President Bro Akiode to explain to the house why they fail in resolving
their internal issues. After much explanations they agreed to bury their anger and allow peace
to reign, for the love of the society. And Bro Otunaya raised issues about personal attacks on
his personality over misappropriation and misconduct which was all false and untrue. He
promised to change and committed to coming for meetings and contribute. The Secretary was
summoned to reply, and write an apology letter to acknowledge his letter of handing over.
7.0 Adjournment: Bro Sogunle thanked the host Church and members for providing a good
atmosphere for the meeting. Our next meeting is on November 5 th at MCN Tabon Tabon
Agege, Lagos. Which is our Annual Thanksgiving. Bro Otunaya moved for adjournment.
8.0 Self-Introduction: Members present stood to introduce themselves by names and unit
represented.
9.0 Closing Prayer: said by Mrs Sogunle with praise and worship @3:43pm.

We, want to use this medium to thank and appreciate your efforts and commitment to service, all through
your tenure as the Financial Secretary of the zone. Also for holding and keeping records of proceedings
intact.
We sincerely apologies for any misrepresentation or attacks on your personality, by any unreliable sources,
making unwarranted allegations against you over lost of zonal properties or funds. We as the Zonal
Executive under the leadership of Taiwo Moses. Have never for once hold any grudge or blame against our
predecessors over misplacement or misconduct. We categorically stand against such unfounded claim.
And we apologies for any pains this might have caused and stand with you, in rendering more for the zone
and YMCA generally.
