Past Perfect ( Pasado Perfecto )
Este tiempo verbal se forma con el pasado del verbo to HAVE ( HAD) ,
mas el participio pasado
( Past Participle ) del verbo counjugado , es bueno recordarte que el
significado del verbo to have
En este tiempo es Haber no tener. ( yo había… , tu habia… , el había…. , ella
ha.bía.. y así continúa ).

Conjugación : a HAD , le corresponden todos los pronombres personales ( I ,


you, he , she, it, we , You, they) .
Example : Teachers explain classes on line cause of quarantine (simple
present)
Teachers had explained classes “ “ “ ( past
perfect)
(profesores habían explicado clases on line a causa de la
cuarentena )
He lived in awfull condition last year. ( simple past)
He had lived in “ “ everyday (present perfect )
( él había vivido en pésimas condiciones todos los días )

Nota: como puedes observar en los ejemplos dado los participios pasado
terminan en ED
En los verbos tipo regulares, por otra parte, los complementos deben coincidir
con el
Nuevo tiempo verbal.
You wrote your test very well last week ( simple past )
You had written you test very well last week. ( past perfect)
En este caso, el verbo usado es de tipo irregular cuya conjugación es
diferente,
Forma interrogativa ( interrogative form )
Had +Personal pronous or nouns +Past Participle + Complement?

Para las formas interrogativa, anteponemos el verbo auxiliar To have (HAD) al


comienzo
De la oración , seguido del sujeto que puede ser un nombre como : Vicky , john
o un pronombre
Personal ( I, you, he, she, it , we, you, they ) en verbo en participio pasado (
past participle)
Y finalmente los complementos circunstanciales de lugar , tiempo y modo.
Example : People watch the news on tv. ( simple present )
Had people watched the news on tv ¿ ( past perfect )
Mary has an accident with her car now ( simple present )
Had She had an accident with her car last day ¿ ( past perfect
)

Underline these sentences to Past Perfect


1.- You had ( see . to see – seen – sees ) my brother in the cinema yesterday.
2.- Children ( to have – has – had – have ) played baseball by themselves days
ago
3.- The Principal had ( call- called – calls – to call ) our parents today
4.- She had ( to be – be – been . being) a good secretary.
5.- Had he ( cleans – to clean- cleaned -clean ) the garden everyday ¿

Change these sentence to : Past Perfect


1.- You are at the library now.

___The lawyer had written the will days ago ___________________
3.- My wife does them
_My wife had done them _________________________________
4.- They understand the english c everydaylas everyday.
