Explain which item you have picked is the healthier option and why?
I have chosen an Açai bowl as a replacement for the McFlurry as it's a healthier
alternative and can be customised. The açai bowl is a great alternative for a number of
reasons. For example açai bowl has less sodium at 4.6mg per 100g, sugar at 10g per
100g and zero cholesterol per 100g, it also has more fibre at 3.4 g per 100g. The açai
bowl is also quite close in the consistency as well, it also has fruits on it and can be
customised to dietary restrictions and fruits/nuts that you prefer.
Baked potato is a great alternative to large fries as it still contains potato. Baked
potatoes have 0 saturated fat per 100g, 9.9mg of sodium per 100g and sugar at 1.2g per
100g. This is much better and healthier compared to the actual fries at 2.3 g of saturated
fat per 100g, 210mg of sodium per 100g and 0.3g of sugar per 100g. Because of this the
baked potato is clearly a better alternative to fries because of its low amount of fat and
sodium.
