According to the Washington Post article the Republican and Democrat parties perceive
education as a civil rights issue that induces economic inequality between blacks and whites. The
current mindset about education as a racial concern has led to an increased focus on higher
education projects such as student loans. Modern American presidents have interpreted the lack
of higher education as the major cause of increased poverty among black Americans.
Traditionally higher education was viewed as a tool for economic advancement since high-
paying jobs were limited to college graduates. The history of higher education qualifications by
employers has led to the prioritization of higher university enrollment goals by the republican
and democrat parties (Bacon, 2023). Increased focus on higher education by politicians has led to
increased poverty and unemployment in the U.S. The higher demand for college graduate
employees has caused increased joblessness among citizens without higher education
qualifications.
Increased poverty and joblessness among high school graduates imply the need for
education reforms in the United States. Demand for compelling academic qualifications by
employers in the market induces job denial among citizens from lower education levels (Bacon,
2023). To foster improved employee suitability the federal government should consider adopting
an apprenticeship model of learning which focuses on job skills acquisition. This approach plays
suitability and the elimination of academic grade qualification criteria by employers. The
apprentice model of learning has previously been implemented in China whereby students are
taught vital job skills rather than complex class theories (Zhang & Liu, 2020). Practical-based

curriculum enhances job suitability by all citizens since they are exposed to practical skills
testing during job interviews. This criteria enhance increased job opportunities among lower
education level students. Adoption of the apprentice model of teaching also motivates employers
to focus on the job skill aspect which is the major factor in workforce recruitment. Passage of job
skills at different stages of learning enhances improved competency among learners (Zhang &
Liu, 2020). Despite the benefits, the apprenticeship education model suffers some drawbacks due
to the high cost of implementing the project. This initiative requires extensive changes in the
current education framework. Costs such as project survey, testing, and classroom modification
