Goosebumps: The Revenge of the Land Gnomes

The book opens up with Joe Burton. A pudgy, pre-teen who has yet
to achieve his growth spurt. Joe’s older sister Mindy is a blonde,
skinny and tall girl. Mindy hates getting defeated by his brother and
resorts to cheating everytime they play a game. While Joe and Mindy
were playing table tennis, Joe distracted Mindy by saying that there
was a spider near her shoulder and it worked well since Mindy is
quite guillible. She gets angry and serves the ball again with force,
this time Joe tried distracting her again but she didn’t give any
attention to Joe and tapped the ball over the net to which Joe dove
forward and whacked the ball. The ball spun high and landed in-
between the washing machine and dryer where Mindy jogged after
it. After they had finished playing Mindy asked Joe on where their
dog named Buster is with the dog being their Black Rottweiler, they
head outside and Mindy sees Buster digging in Mr. McCall’s (their
neighbor) garden with it unfortunately not being the dog’s first time
doing this act. Joe and Mindy rushed over to Buster successfully
luring him to them but not before Mr. McCall comes out and sees his
garden dug up and Buster with dirt and grime all over his paws.
