    Lab Reflection

    On the 11th of September 2023, in the chemistry lab, we


    decided to experiment on the physical ways of separating
    mixtures. I believe it was a fruitful experience. First, we had to
    know the type of mixture to move forward. Homogenous
    mixtures such as salty water and heterogenous mixtures such
    as sand and iron had different ways of separating mixtures. We
    accomplished our goal: heating up salty water, which decreases
    the solubility of salt; using a magnet to take iron out of sand
    and iron; using filter paper to take sand out of water; and
    decantation of relatively dense water and less dense oil.
    We had a successful experiment. We learnt the ways of
    physically separating mixtures practically.
