Lesson 4 – Installing Device Drivers

Lesson Overview

This practical hands-on training will provide the trainees the skill in installing drivers for various
devices like motherboard, video card, printers, scanners and webcam.

Lesson Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the trainees will be able to:

 Install drivers of motherboard

 Install drivers of video card
 Install drivers and software of printer
 Install drivers and software of scanner
 Install drivers of webcam
Installing motherboard driver

1. Insert the motherboard driver CD installation.

2. Select the necessary items then click install now.
 Installing Video Card

1. Insert video card installation CD. Navigate CD and click on Setup

if installation won’t start automatically.
2. Click next.

Click yes to accept license agreement.

Installing Video Card

Click on express then click next to start installation.

Installing Video Card

Click yes to restart PC.

 Installing Printer

1. Insert the Epson Photo Stylus R230 into the CD-ROM drive of the computer.
2. Follow the instructions on the screen. Or, if the installation program does
not start automatically:
a. Click Start, then click Run. The Run window opens.
b. In the Open box type: X:\SETUP.EXE (where x is the letter of the CD-
ROM drive).
3. If the instruction prompts to turn off the computer, do so.
4. Connect the USB cable between the USB port on the printer and the USB
port on the computer.
5. Connect the power cable between the printer and a surge protector or a
grounded wall outlet. This turns on the printer.
6. If necessary, turn the computer on again
 Installing scanner
1. Close all open programs on the computer.
2. Locate the HP Photo & Imaging software CD-ROM that is appropriate for the language
and operating system and insert the CD-ROM disk into the computer.
3. Follow the instructions on the screen. Or, if the installation program does not start
automatically:
a.Click Start, then click Run. The Run window opens.
b.In the Open box type: X:\SETUP.EXE (where x is the letter of the CD-ROM drive).
4. If the instruction prompts to turn off the computer, do so.
5. Connect the USB cable between the USB port on the scanner and the USB port on the
computer.
6. Connect the power cable between the scanner and a surge protector or a grounded wall
outlet.
This turns on the scanner.
7. If necessary, turn the computer on again.
 Installing scanner
1. Insert installation CD. Follow the instructions on the screen. Or, if the installation program
does not start automatically:
a. Click Start, then click Run. The Run window opens.
b. In the Open box type: X:\SETUP.EXE (where x is the letter of the CD-ROM
drive).

2. Click yes to accept license agreement.

Installing scanner

Click next. Restart PC.
