Communicating

with Colleagues

How to keep a
positive atmosphere
in the workplace
Thank you for
joining me today.
My name is
Chun Hei Kim
I'm a communications head.
I'm a public speaker.
I'm also a self-published author.
Keep it real.
Honesty goes a
long way.
To maintain a harmonious relationship with
coworkers, you must be truthful in what you say and
how you act. Letting colleagues know your honest
opinion about different matters can help bring
clarity to any situation. It also builds trust in the
workplace, which make work easy and enjoyable.
Speak
your mind.
It may not be easy to let your coworkers
know about your qualms on certain
matters, but this will help them
understand you better as an individual.
Though this is an important step, always
remember to think before you speak.
Keep it positive.
Speaking honestly doesn't always
ensure a positive outcome. It matters
how you deliver your thoughts and
how your actions reflect your words.
Strive to maintain a positive and
forward-thinking approach when
interacting with colleagues.
Mind your tone and ensure you're
coming from a place of sincerity.

Consider where your coworkers are

coming from and understand their
perspective on any given situation.

Provide feasible solutions that are

favored by the majority of
your colleagues.
Keep your cool.
It won't always be
smooth sailing.
There is no perfect workplace. Depending on the
situation, you may get into a heated argument or
at the very least, develop misunderstandings with
your coworkers.

Rectify any issue by communicating truthfully.

Confrontation may be difficult, but setting aside time
to talk and settle matters in a calm manner will do
wonders for your relationship with your coworkers.
Foster a workplace
respectful and accepting of
different ideas.
Set an
example. Be kind in your interactions
and be quick in mending any
communication issues.
Be a positive change.
