Why do we use contractions?

Contractions ‫عاله كاين تقليصات في اللغة‬
Formal= ‫رسمي‬ Contractions are a way to mash together
Informal= ‫غير رسمي‬ two words in order to make them shorter.

Formal Informal

I am I'm
you are you're

They are They're

I'm, What's , Name's..

When chatting with Family and Friends contractions

are acceptable. However, if you're writing an
academic paper or anything else that's formal, you
may want to avoid contractions. If you're writing for
school, it might be a good idea to ask your teacher
if contractions are OK.
