TRANSDUCER

• A transducer is a device that converts

energy from one form to another
• Energy forms can be mechanical, visual,
aural, electrical, thermal, chemical, etc.
(examples to follow)
• Used to change information into a form that
can be easily transferred, stored, processed,
•TRANSDUCER:- A transducer is an electronic
device that converts energy from one form to
another. The process of converting energy from
one form to another is known as transduction.
Some common examples of transducers include
loudspeakers, microphones, thermometers and
LEDs.

•Classification of transducer:-
•Active transducer :- The active
transducers generate electric current or voltage directly
in response to stimulation. An example is the
thermocouple; here, the fact that a current will flow in a
continuous circuit of two metals, if the two junctions
are at different temperatures, is used to generate
electricity.
•Example of Piezoelectric :-Piezoelectric
transducer/sensor is a active transducer and it does not
need external power supply as it is self generating. It is
the devices which uses piezoelectric.
