This idea came to me while I was on a coffee date with a friend. When we got our coffee

and asked for a sugar pack the barista gave us a lot of sugar packs. In a moment I thought about

two things 1) this is a lot of sugar 2)and it looks boring in this color, white. Then I started

thinking of fun colors for sugar and the one I liked the most was the pink because it reminded

me of Barbie. I thought for sure Barbie uses fun pink sugar and not boring white sugar. This way

I’m incorporating the ethos aspects because Barbie, even if it’s a fictional character, has a lot of

influence on people(especially females) and more in this present year. Also I will be covering the

aspect of pathos by convincing the people that their life would be boring and not lived fully

because they use a boring sugar for their coffee.

After having my idea for the product I wanted to sell, what was left to do is research if

something like this already existed, are there any benefits or how can I create it. During my

research I found that there is something called sugar beet, which has different benefits like: is

not chemically synthesized sugar because it comes directly from a plant source which makes it a

very good option for people that prefer natural ingredients in their food and beverage. Also this

sugar has a low glycemic index(measure of how quickly a food raises blood sugar levels) making

it a good option for people that have diabetes or that want to manage their blood sugar levels.

(St. CharlesTrading, 2023) The problem was that it is still not pink but you could dye it with red

beetroot and have the perfect color pink. This method allows us to still have an organic product
keeping the high nutritional value. Also it offers additional benefits like boost immunity, reduce

inflammation, balance blood pressure, and improve brain function. (Chilson, 2022) This makes it

possible to not use artificial coloring and have a fun color pink. With this part I cover the aspect

of logos by demonstrating the health benefits of this sugar. Lastly the name was created by

combination or the word root (sugar root) and fabulous, creating the “ROOTolus”.
