Title:
Introduction

Mathematics and English language are compulsory subjects within high school due to their

importance and requirements within society.

This brought attention to students’ academic performances within these subject areas which lead

to the observation that the scores consisted of a probability, implying that students unknown

score for either subject can be determined with the known.

The objective of this project is to examine the relationship between Mathematics and English

language scores and determine the differences and probabilities.

The Variables being considered are:

1. Academic performance with Mathematics and English language

2. The difference between Mathematics and English language scores

3. The probability of Mathematics and English language scores

Method

1. The Mathematics and English scores of a sample of 30 students consisting of 15 females

and 15 males were recorded.

2. Information was collected from a schedule that recorded scores. The scores were

obtained from the previous end- of - term examination.

3. The scores were provided by the school with the consent of the teachers. Student privacy

was maintained as no names were recorded.

4. The information obtained will be presented on graphs and tables in order to find the

necessary observations and conclusions needed to complete this assessment.
