Second Semester School Year 2021-2022

Name: TUMACDER, DANICA HANNAH MAE L.

Course: BSED 3B-FILIPINO
Class Code: E0013
Module Number and Title: IM 07 Enhanced Teacher Education Curriculum Anchored on
Outcome-Based Education

I. LEARNING ACTIVITIES

The new teacher education curriculum is based on Outcome-Based Education as

evidenced by constructive alignment of the important elements of the curriculum.

As a student of curriculum and future teacher, would you be able to:

1. Know exactly what to need to do to achieve the outcome even at the beginning of
your degree plan? Yes / No____. Explain.

As a future teacher and a student of curriculum, I should be aware of and identify

what I need to do to achieve the desired outcomes even before I start my degree plan
because this will tell me if I will be an effective teacher and the learning activities I will
be providing to my students should be SMART, which means they should be specific,
measurable, attainable, relevant, and time bound so that I can accurately assess my
students overall learnings and be able to addressed problems quickly. As a conclusion,
when I, as a teacher, know what to do to attain the targeted outcomes, I may not only
develop personally, but also professionally, while my students develop and
practice 21st century skills.

2. Identify what you will do in order to achieve the desired outcomes? Yes / No____
Explain.

I should be able to identify what I will do to obtain the intended objectives as a

future teacher as well. When we give our learners assessments, we must first
determine which assessment they should take based on their level of knowledge and
ability. We should not provide assessments that are beyond their scope. To be able to
determine what to do in order to achieve the desired outcomes, we, as teachers, must
first diagnose or examine our students' strengths and weaknesses, as well as identify
their learning styles and uniqueness, because we will not be able to achieve the desired
outcomes if we only concentrate and repeat one strategy. Learning activities must be
matched not only to learning objectives, but also to our students' interests and
demands; in this way, not only will they succeed, but we, the teachers, will as well.

3. Measure the desired outcome if it has been achieved? Yes / No____ Explain.

Teachers must constantly assess whether or not the intended objectives have been
attained. And I learned in Prof Ed 6 and 8 (Assessment in Learning 1 & 2) that a
teacher can only quantify intended learning outcomes by performing summative
assessment, often known as assessment of learning. This assessment is given to
students at the end of the course and is used by teachers as evidence of students'
learning in order to make a judgement or assign a value to the student's
achievement. Summative assessment also tells us if the strategies we used were

effective and efficient. Moreover, we can evaluate whether our students have learned
and mastered something at the end of the learning process and have gained expertise
in their field when we can determine whether the desired goals have been
accomplished or not.

4. Develop the competencies required for all future teachers? Yes / No ____
Explain.

Teachers should also work on improving their teaching abilities. We must not be
contented with only teaching our students and generating competent graduates; we
must also learn skills for our own professional growth and to improve the effectiveness
and quality of our teaching. I assumed that by simply creating learning outcomes that
are designed for my students and are attainable over time, I would be able to develop
the competencies for all future teachers. I should also provide my students precise
directions and feedback on their progress and accomplishments. Lastly, I must be
willing to participate in webinars and seminars to improve my leadership skills,
professionalism, and career and self-development, since this would greatly benefit me
in becoming a more effective teacher to my students.

5. Tell if you are improving or not in knowledge, skills, and values while schooling?
Yes / No____ Explain.

Only we can tell if we are progressing personally while in school, particularly in

terms of knowledge, talents, and beliefs. People can only judge us; they are unable to
understand our progress and accomplishments. Since I know how to take
responsibility for everything, I can tell if I am improving my knowledge, abilities, and
values while in school. I make time to study a lot of educational literature, especially
in my major, because I know I'll be starting my student teaching career soon and need
to sharpen up on my knowledge. I'm also working on strengthening my communication
abilities by starting to create tutors and speaking with other colleagues. Furthermore,
I avoid cramming and doing actions that are not beneficial to my learning because it
will have a significant impact on my future teaching profession.

II. ASSIGNMENT

1. Write an essay on the topic given below

“The New Teacher Education Curriculum and My Future as a Teacher”

It is my responsibility as the new teacher education curriculum and my future teaching

profession to obtain not only information but also the 21st century abilities that are in need in
today's society. The new education curriculum is not the same as the former one. The society has
high expectations in every teacher in the twenty-first century. There is also a significant shift in
the teaching and learning process, which is why new teachers of the new curriculum must put in
a lot of work and effort and be flexible and adaptable to ensure a successful implementation.

As a future teacher, I recognize that today's students are technologically savvy, that they
prefer to learn on their own phase, and that they learn more when a topic is presented in the
context of their interests and desires. As an outcome, I must develop technology skills and be
creative in order to be an effective teacher for them. A well-organized classroom aids in the
development of students' teaching skills. When the learning environment is favorable and is well-
organized, learning becomes more engaging and interesting. As a future teacher, it is also my
responsibility to serve as a positive and productive role model for my students as they learn
knowledge, skills, and values that they can apply and master in the real world.

Teaching is no longer a career, but rather a responsibility. The future of our learners and
their development is in our hands. It is no longer what is written in the curriculum but how our
students will learn and be lifelong learners in the future.
