Writing coursework, especially in subjects like Year 10 Art, can be a challenging task.

It requires a
combination of creativity, research, and the ability to articulate your thoughts effectively. Year 10 is
a crucial stage where students are introduced to more advanced concepts and skills in art, making the
coursework even more demanding.

Here are some challenges students may face when working on Year 10 Art coursework:

1. Creative Expression: Art coursework often demands a high level of creativity. Students
need to develop original ideas, experiment with different techniques, and express their
unique artistic voice.
2. Research and Analysis: A comprehensive understanding of art history, various art
movements, and the ability to analyze artworks are crucial. This adds an academic dimension
to the coursework, requiring students to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical skills.
3. Time Management: Creating artworks, conducting research, and writing about them all
require time. Balancing these tasks alongside other academic commitments can be
challenging for students.
4. Technical Proficiency: Mastering the technical aspects of different art mediums, such as
drawing, painting, or sculpture, is essential. Developing skills in these areas while aligning
them with the conceptual goals of the coursework can be daunting.
5. Effective Communication: Art coursework often involves presenting and explaining the
thought process behind artworks. Communicating artistic ideas in writing can be a struggle
for those who are more visually inclined.

For those finding it challenging to manage these aspects, seeking help can be a viable solution. ⇒

This will allow you to gather enough primary source photographs and drawings to enable you to get
the best grade possible. I used silhouettes of different people and experimented with them, blending
them together to create an interesting and investigative effect. If I could improve my work further, I
would make the contours on the geisha even more precise and I would try top find a way to make
them stand out more, so that it would acquire more importance on the page. This sketchbook page
includes confident and sophisticated experimentation with line (hatching and rendering techniques)
as well as with several wet mediums, including acrylic paint, water colour and Indian ink. The
drawings of seagulls morph into sketches that are influenced by the Cubism works to the left. The
different colours are used to display the different emotions I go through at any one time. Please

Manfrotto Tripod. Don't cram everything in just for the sake of having a bigger portfolio. I used
mounting board under the lamp to make it look like it had its own real shadow, and I like the effect
of this. Well done Greg. John. Reply Delete Replies Reply Arthur 18 August 2010 at 13:51 I agree
with John, your work is truly remarkable, there is a special quality about all the drawings, I like them
all. If your wondering why there are Birds on the Tribesman's head its because I thought it would be
more fun painting birds rather than just the feathers in the final 10 hour exam and trust me it starts to
get a bit boring and depressing after the first 2 hours because your being held there against your will
and your no longer doing it for fun, which and the end of the day is what its all about. This work
took a really long time to complete because I had never sewn before. To make the composition more
pleasing, I also used an odd number of elements (7) on my page. By being experimental, you present
the admissions team with something eye-catching that ups your chance of being admitted. I hope you
enjoy my pictures as much as I have enjoyed taking them,Greg. I think a strength of my piece is the
use of color and the combination of mediums on the page. No form of reproduction, including

improve this page I would try and use more types of surfaces to print on and also different colors of
ink, in order to achieve a furthermore interesting effect. In this assignment, Manisha referenced
traditional Maori weavers and made a flax weaving of her own (flax is a common plant in NZ coastal
regions, thus fitting into the overall Coastal Environment theme). For this page I combined various
techniques and materials: acrylic, 2B, 4B and 6B pencil, water soluble graphite, watercolor pencils,
watercolor, pen and ink and coffee. A highly talented student, Manisha gained a result of 98% for
her Coursework project. Many of the schools you are applying to likely have past portfolios on their
website or in their library. On some parts I used 3D acrylic to create three-dimensional lines and dots.
Both components will be assessed for 5 Assessment Objectives (click here for more about IGCSE

contours of the face, as Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth do in their drawings, so I drew these
using graphite pencils onto tracing paper, that I then glued on the fabric and Image Maker. This
sketchbook page was completed during a gallery visit, where students analysed the composition of
artworks created by local artists. I am also passionate about photography, and I have also tried to
show that through my project. These resources are invaluable for staying up-to-date with the latest

guidance, but do not try to mimic that student's work just to get accepted. The way I enhanced my
face with light is similar the Andy Warhols' work. Think about presentation and the layout of the
page carefully. If I could improve this page furthermore, I would include more care in the watercolor
layers and I would also try to blend more the artist work into mine. Both components will be

opportunity to improve something I would work on the shape of the hands on the blue silhouette and
especially on the pencil drawing, so that it could look even more realistic. The contours of the
landscape remind me of the creases of clothing that I have been looking at with the photo that
portrays the woman in a burqa. You will also want to include projects that were created outside of
classroom instruction to show you are driven and independent. After I created the lino prints, I
worked on one of them with pieces of collage paper, to see how this would affect the print. Your

some studies of a Peregrine Falcon. These include acrylic paint, graphite pencil (2B, 4B and 6B),
colored metal wire, tissue paper and PVA glue, colored felt, colored fabric, colored cotton and
needles for sewing, a glass bead for the bird’s eye and montage cardboard for the lamp. In the end I
decided to include one of the printing blocks I used during the first part of the page creation, but to
make it look more interesting I painted the leftover lino silhouette in black acrylic and then I
decorated the surroundings with some light touches of white acrylic. I decided to use various colours
such as red, green, yellow, blue and black, because I felt that mixing more colors on the same print
gave an idea of three-dimensions and perspective. At the beginning I was not pleased with the effect,
because I expected the lines of the face to be more defined, whereas on the majority of the prints
they were quite abstract. By John Pickrell. Life on Earth is in the throes of a new wave of mass

photos to give an effect of depth and perspective, and I also feel that it offers a creative contrast
between color and black and white. Open house events can provide you with a lot of insight about
the school, their admissions process, and their portfolio expectations. At the beginning I didn’t like
the effect, because I used too much color, but after I played around a bit with the leftovers of paper,
I decided to use some small pieces of the paper to make the silhouette more interesting, and then
filled the gap in the middle with white acrylic. For the years 2019 and those prior, you can still make
use of the content for its work quality, innovative ideas, and sources of inspiration.
I found it hard to blend the fabric and the paper because they were materials that couldn’t be united
together, so I decided to make the background grey and make the pieces look like they were part of
a puzzle or sequence. You will use this knowledge to inform and expand your own creative thinking
to produce artworks that express personal ideas. I then painted the background of the page in a
bright tone of acrylic blue to illuminate the work and, especially because blue is the complementary
color of orange, I have an orange ochre element, which is the background of the Statue of Liberty
photo. Share to Twitter Share to Facebook Share to Pinterest. I then used the photocopy that I
colored by accident with fabric ink to cover the mistake and I find the effect interesting and creative.
A bird casually sat on its head, allowing me to capture the moment and to use this as a source of
inspiration and a link with the page I made using Gary Hume’s work Beggin For It and The Bird. I
sewed some of the contours of the face on one as I did for the Arab woman and then I created a
negative image of the sewing on the one at the top by coloring with felt tip pens the spaces created
by the threads I sewed. A great tip for International GCSE students is to use a range of grounds and
drawing surfaces within their sketchbook. Write a review Update existing review Submit review

Luckily for you, this guide will give you everything you need to know to put together a portfolio that
will really knock some socks off. I saw some lithographs by Barnett Newman at the Pollock and the
Irascibles Exhibition in Milan and they interested me particularly. One of the strengths I can see in
this piece is the interesting mix of different materials, such as different papers, fabric and linoleum.
