MAT has f ive sections. In other MBA entrance exams, Data Interpretation is clubbed with
either Quantitative Ability or Logical Reasoning. In MAT , Data Interpretation is a separate

Language Comprehension: T his section has two parts – Verbal Ability and Reading
Comprehension. T opics in this section include Verb, Noun, Pronoun, Adjective, Adverb,

Sentence Correction, Para Jumble and Reading Comprehension.
Intelligence & Critical Reasoning: T his section of MAT carries questions f rom Analytical
and Logical Reasoning topics such as Family T ree, Course of Action, Arrangement, Pie Chart,
Calendars, Statement Conclusions, Strong Arguments and Weak Arguments, Puzzles, Series,
Blood Relations, Coding & Decoding, Visual Reasoning, Syllogisms and Graphs.

Data Analysis & Data Sufficiency: T his section is divided into two parts – Data Analysis
and Data Suf f iciency. Questions are asked f rom Line Graph, Bar Graph, Caselet, Pie Chart,
Data Comparison, Quantitative Comparison and Data Suf f iciency.

Indian & Global Environment: T he Indian & Global Environment or GK section includes
questions f rom Current Af f airs and Static GK. Although this section carries 40 marks, it is not
taken into consideration to determine candidate’s MAT score and percentile.
T he MAT paper pattern is such that every section carries equal weightage of 40 marks
Indian and Global Environment section's score is not considered f or calculating MAT
percentile

AIMA introduced the Internet Based T est (IBT ) mode in 2020 f ollowing the outbreak of
COVID-19 pandemic. T he paper pattern of MAT IBT is same as CBT /PBT . T he test
structure and marking scheme of IBT mode exam is the same as CBT and PBT modes. T he
only dif f erence is that in this mode of examination, candidates do not have to visit a test
