My name is Angela Jones, science teacher at El Capitan High School, and I am writing a letter of
recommendation for Samantha Rios for any scholarships she is applying for. I had the pleasure of
meeting this outstanding student in August of 2023. Since then, she has flourished as a student in my
Genetics course which is part of the ECHS Biotech Pathway. I would describe her as an ambitious,
clever, and intelligent student that understands the importance of being a well rounded individual.

Samantha manifests excellence as an academic student and community leader. On campus,

Samantha has participated in a variety of school activities including FFA and GSA. She has earned
the Principal Honor Roll award twice and volunteers time at school games and carnivals. Finally, she
enjoys reading, writing, and painting in her spare time. Her current GPA is 3.4.

Her academic goal is to graduate from a California State University campus or UC Merced with a
Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Afterwhich, she will fulfill her career goal of becoming an English
Teacher. I am confident she will excel during the academic journey to her desired career. Being a well
rounded member of society will allow Samantha to take steps closer to achieving her college and
career goals.

I recommend that you award Samantha Rios any scholarship she is applying for. I believe she
embodies all the characteristics of what you are looking for in an academically outstanding student
leader.
