1. Tell us about yourself.

Good morning! And thank you very much.


My name is Kidus w/Amanuel, I was born in Addis Ababa in 1995, am 23 years of age. I finished
my high school education at St. Joseph school and my university education at Addis Ababa
institute of technology with the field of civil engineering.

2. Why do you want to be a pilot?

I want to be a pilot because I was always fascinated and dreamed to become a pilot and be
able to connect our globe. This ambition was raised when I first flew on a plan to so see our
heritages and it was summer so I had the time.
In addition I believe I have the qualities to be a pilot.
If they ask what type of qualities: good team player, capable of multi-tasking and responsible.

3. Do you think your university education has anything to do with flying or being a pilot?

yes I believe my university education has helped me because I have improved my team
work. This is because of different types of behavior that come from all over Ethiopia in the
university and you have to be able to adapt and work together for the same goal.

4. What do you know about an airplane (how does it fly)?

The concept behind a flying airplane is that its aerodynamic shape of its wing by which it
generates a lift force that pushes an airplane in upward direction to overcome the downward
force of the weight caused by gravity.

5. What do you think is a pilot's qualities (or qualities a pilot should possess)?

The quality of a pilot is being responsible, carrying, active, confident and able to multi task.

6. What do you know about Ethiopian airlines?

Ethiopian airlines is the biggest and successful airline in Africa and celebrated its 70th
anniversery a couple years ago with a fleet size of 100 planes by now Ethiopian airlines has an
increasing amount of both local and international destinations including the recent destination
the capital city of Eritrea Asmara.

The Ethiopian aviation academy is one of the best aviation training centers in Africa which
teaches commercial, cabin crew, leadership, maintenance and pilot trainees giving equal
opportunities for everyone interested on aviation the academy helps the trainees transforming
their dreams into reality.
7. What do you think is your weakness?

My weakness is public speaking am not good at speaking for more than 100 people but I’ve
tried to improve it in my university life.

8. What is the biggest accomplishment in your life so far?

My biggest accomplishment in my life so far is finishing my university education even though I


know everyone here is also accomplished it I believe the experience have change me for a
better person.

9. What would you do if the person you work with annoys you all the time (what if you can't
do anything about it?)

If a person annoys me all the time based the rules and regulation I’ll try to explain his rights as
well as mine. If he don’t stop I try to teach him how he can improve his behavior.

10. What was your final year project? Tell us about it.

My final year project was a design of a G+8 building. Which incorporated everything that I
learned it the past 5 years into one full design of a building.

11. Have you ever solved a problem? When and where? Tell us about it

Problems arise many time with different occasions.

12. What would you do if you encounter a life threatening situation while you’re working?
(For example, brakes dysfunctional while you’re driving a car or engine failure while flying
solo (alone)?)

I will try to comely assess the situation that I’ve encountered and based on my education find
the best possible solution.
