Scope of work

Mechanical work

 Fire protection system:


Bidders will be responsible to supply & install items of the Fire Protection system and coordinate
with the existing network and relevant disciplines, in addition to compliance to the Civil defense,
NFPA requirements.
Contractors shall Guarantee the product items with submission of Certificate of Compliance and
Factory test reports, certificate of the products from the Saudi civil defense.
-Portable fire extinguishers shall be, UL Listed, FM approved, carbon dioxide agent OR ABC dry
powder

 Plumbing system:
1-Domestic water supply:
Water service shall be extended from valves outlets to main at point of tie-in. All valves, water
hammer arrestor ,such other components as shown shall be installed to provide a complete
water supply system.

The water heaters, and associated fittings and accessories shall comply fully with the latest
relevant Saudi Standards in all respects.

Pipes, fittings and valves, water hammer arrestor, pressure relief valve……etc. shall be in
accordance to the existing network material selection
Reference to standards and codes AWWA, ASTEM, ANSI and SBC
2-Sanitary waste and vent:
Drainage services shall be connected with the existing network maintaining with the material
selection.

 HEATING, VENTILATING & AIR-CONDITIONING (HVAC):
The Contractor shall supply and install AC unit and exhaust fans for completion of work

Contractor must determine the air change for exhaust fans onto the applied area to specify the
equipment selection to determine the duct size, flexible duct, air outlet…. etc. needed, also
determine the length of duct to overcome the static pressure.

Contractor must carefully examine the project site, and verify all measurements, distances,
levels, materials, equipment, etc. before starting work.
Changes shall be made to the location of equipment and materials as may be necessary in
order to meet this requirement.

Indoor Design Conditions: Indoor comfort conditions are based on the recommendations of
ASHRAE Standard 55.
