PROGRESS ADVANTAGES

Progress can be defined as coming closer and closer to the

truth. We just need to realize that in order to produce new
and better things we might have to go through some rough
times on the way. As everything it has advantages and
disadvantages. progress gave us time saving machines and
brought us improved living standarts but we have to mention
its disadvantages. Machinery today is getting better and
better. many people lose their jobs because of all the new
high-tech machinery. For this reason, some believe that
progress is not always for the better. What if machinery
started dominating everyone's job. Modern industry brings us
many conveniences. But Maybe someday the oceans will
swallow some big cities nearby them. it also brings us another
serious problem - pollution. Pollution in some countries is so
serious that ecological balance is damaged and many animals
and plants lose their living environment and become extinct
eventually. The air is polluted and it is not suitable for people.
The water is also polluted and people are facing deficiency of
drinking water. polluted air and water, extreme high
temperatures in summer which are all harmful to our health.
PROGRESS DISADVANTAGES
Progress can be defined as coming closer and closer to the
truth. We just need to realize that in order to produce new
and better things we might have to go through some rough
times on the way. As everything it has advantages and
disadvantages.
For example Scientific progress which gave us better lives
through the advances in medical technology. Over the years
progress has improved the world. Cultural progress made this
world a better place to live in. Literary progress has helped us
better record history and ideas. Progress in communication
has brought this huge world together into a ―global village.
Scientific progress brings us many conveniences and advanced
machines, such as computers, automobiles, and so on.
Progress seems to have made life simpler and more
comfortable.

CULTURE
culture is that complex whole which includes
knowledge, belief, art, law, morals and etc. . It does not
have any biological connection we imbibe the culture of
the society where we grow up and it is a way of
survival. Sometimes other societies and people seem to
be a little odd because they have a different culture
from ours but people with same culture share a specific
language, traditions, behavior, perceptions and beliefs
and it gives them an identity which makes them unique.
Usually people who settle in other nations imbibe the
new culture while at the same time strive to preserve
their own. Culture affects every aspect of daily life - how
we think and feel, how we learn and teach. However,
most people are unaware of their own culture until they
experience another! we communicate with each other
but we have ifferent languages , we sustain ourselves
with food and this food is not similiar and when we
sleep we often dream different dreams. Culture can be
understood as the totality of what a group of people
think, how they behave.

CONFLICTS
conflict is an integral part of our life. It is a word that
causes discomfort, anger, frustration, sadness, and pain.
No matter how hard we try to avoid it, conflict
periodically enters our lives. Conflicts arise when people
are competing for the same resources, when people are
unhappy with how they are governed, when people's
beliefs clash.
CONFLICT OF VALUES
A value is a belief, a mission, or a philosophy and every
individual has a core set of personal values. Values
explain what is "good" or "bad," "right" or "wrong,"
"just" or "unjust." People can live together in harmony
with different value systems. Value disputes arise when
they attempt to force one set of values on others.
values usually cannot be changed simply by reason.
Values are deeply held beliefs - usually based on
cultural traditions, long-held family
CULTURE AND GLOBALIZATION
Culture and globalization are two different concepts.
When a culture is introduced to the globalization people
find it detrimental to their way of life. Such as they
scared some inconsiderable concepts of other culture
might take the place of their culture.
No matter where we are, we view Hollywood movies,
eat American food, and wear jeans. globalization is big
business, culture becomes globalized and because of
that it is easier for businesses to sell their products
worldwide but at the same time Some people warn
that unique cultural entities may vanish. Globalization
brings increased interaction and adaptation between
cultures. it brings a worldwide identity. It is the one
voice that represents world-wide communication.

WHAT IS DEMOCRACY
Each individual surely has his/her own perception of
what democracy means. Democracy is more than just a
set of specific government institutions; it rests upon a
well- understood group of values, attitudes, and
practices. The people decide who will represent them in
parliament. Democratic elections are free when citizens
have the right to choose from several candidates or
parties that can run for the election without any
restriction.

THE ROLE OF CITIZENS IN A DEMOCRACY

democracy is stronger when citizens become active
members of political parties. The key role of citizens in a
democracy is to participate in public life. Voting in
elections is another important civic duty of all citizens.
Citizens in a democracy have not only rights they also
have the responsibility to participate in the political
system and protect their rights and freedoms. A
democratic society needs the commitment of citizens
who accept the inevitability of intellectual and political
conflict as well as the necessity for tolerance.
Democracies understand that one of their prime
functions is to protect such basic human rights as
freedom of speech and religion;

FUNDAMENTAL FREEDOM AND RIGHTS

If democracy is to work, citizens must not only
participate and exercise their rights, They must also
observe certain principles and rules of democratic
conduct. People must respect the law and reject
violence. Every citizen must respect the rights of his or
her fellow citizens. When you express your opinions you
should also listen to the views of other people, even
people you disagree with. Everyone has a right to be
heard. Don‘t be so convinced of the rightness of your
views that you refuse to see any merit in another
position.
FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION
The freedom to express our thoughts is an important
part of our individual identity. When we talk and write
about our opinions we are contributing ideas and
participating in society. Freedom of expression is widely
acknowledged as a basic human right that should be
available to all, playing a crucial role in a fair and open
society‖.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH
Freedom of speech means the freedom to communicate
ideas without government suppression or interference
or punitive action. It protects the individual‘s ability to
think and to express his thoughts in material form,
whether spoken, written, filmed, staged, or otherwise
depicted visually. It does not, however, guarantee him
the material means to implement this right.
Freedom of speech protects all speech, however
offensive or unpopular. It is the bulwark of liberty.
