My apologies for the long wait I've been on c.ai for the past 4-
5 days nonstop

M/n showed up to work, nearly regretting taking the job. Why?

The uniforms. The booty shorts paired with a sailor hat made
him feel like a kid being forced to take photos for some
random holiday. The only thing that made him feel better was
the fact that the uniform was for all the workers. As he walked
in for his shi", he saw Steve doing the impossible and pulling
o! the look. The girl, Robin Buckley, he did not know well,
yet. However, he felt something like recognition. His gaydar
going o!, perhaps? He'd have to find out.

Barely an hour into his shi" and M/n was already tired of ice
cream. He felt the urge to commit robbery and grand the"
auto, but he didn't act on them because he's a good citizen.
He had gotten to talking with the two and they all felt like
they were meant to be friends, their conversations flowed and
there was no awkward air between them. Of course, the
conversations weren't all too entertaining, as any
conversations slinging ice cream would be. It still felt nice to
find people so quickly here. He wouldn't be alone.

~Time Skip~

At the end of their shi", M/n changed in a bathroom stall. No

way he was going to be seen in that sailor outfit biking around
the place. He might've found possible friends, but they
weren't really friends yet, so he didn't have much to do. He
could just roam around town, maybe bump into Steve "The
Hair" Harrington, as he soon found Steve was called. His hair
truly was magnificent. But he didn't want to waste a whole
week just roaming around. So instead, he waited for his dad
to get home, which wasn't long as their shi"s had started
around the same time and ended less than 2 hours apart. His
dad walked in and M/n stood up. F/n stood there, too. There
was silence for a second until M/n remembered what
speaking was. "Hi, dad. Do you wanna show me around town,
maybe get co!ee or something?" M/n wasn't sure what
response to expect. He and his dad hadn't talked a lot since
he got there, but he didn't want it to stay that way. "Sure, kid.
Let's go."

M/n sat in the passenger seat while his dad pointed at various
buildings and told him about them. They reached a café
where F/n went o"en. It was surprisingly big, but not too big,
however there were a couple dozen people in there. They
ordered and the baristas asked about M/n. It really was a
small town, closely knit, and word got around. His dad's
friends were also asking about him, how long he was staying,
his job, that sort of stu!. The day was going really well. He'd
found people who could turn into good friends, was accepted
into the little community, and was having a great time with
his dad. It was like heaven on Earth.

"I'm sorry if I haven't been with you enough," F/n said.

"Everything's still adjusting and I've been pretty busy, but if
you need me, kid, know I'm right here." M/n nodded and
leaned forward to hug his dad. If he wasn't in such a public
place, he'd probably cry.

~Time Skip (ik there are too many but just bear with me
please)~

The next day, M/n and his dad talked in the morning before
they le" for work. M/n told him about the job at Scoops and
his dad listened and laughed, even telling M/n he might start
going there for ice cream. M/n went to work happy. Even the
stupid uniform couldn't bring him down. Him, Steve, and
Robin were getting along really well. During their shi", one
young girl seemed to keep coming up for ice cream, asking for
samples. M/n even heard Steve arguing with her and losing.
He stifled a laugh at how Steve was getting absolutely
obliterated by a little girl. A"er a while seeing them go back
and forth, M/n decided to go and see it for himself. "Well,
what's going on here?" M/n was still holding back a smile at
the situation. "Your coworker is denying me the right to an ice
cream sample," she said. Then, she turned to Steve and
continued, "Must be the hairspray getting to your head." M/n
actually had to cover his mouth to keep himself from
laughing. "Well, Steve, looks like you have some ice cream
samples to supply."

A"er their shi", the three hung around in the mall for a little
while. They talked about all sorts of things and told M/n more
about the 'cursed' town of Hawkins. "D'you guys think this
place is really cursed and all that shit?" M/n asked, wanting to
know what they thought. Robin seemed more eager to talk
about the curses and haunts of the town, while Steve seemed
hesitant. Either he was against conspiracies, or he knew more
than he wanted to. They spent a couple minutes talking about
the oddities of Hawkins before the conversation started to
sidetrack and became something else completely. They
laughed and joked around for who knows how long. M/n felt
relieved that he was able to find these two. They chattered
and gossipped till the sun was going down. Deciding it was a
good time to go home, the three exchanged numbers and
said their goodbyes. M/n may have parted ways with them,
but he was thinking about them long past their departure.

M/n got a call the next day an hour and a half before his shi".
He had still barely woken up and looked half-dead. His voice
sounded no di!erent. "Hello?" He nearly flinched at how
much he sounded like a zombie. He heard a guy's laugh on
the other end and then, "What are you doing right now? You
busy?"
