Chapter six
The whole day I was a mess ,unable to concentrate.He had made me feel alive again,after that kiss,o lord it was
heavenly I taught.I know that I was not suppose to think of it, because of my other problems.Totally forget about my
thread.After a few minutes of daydreaming I gather my thoughts and begin to do my work .
"Emily, would you like to go grab lunch",I heard Clara asked."Be there in a second ,just wrapping this up fast ",I
answered.Me and Clara were starting to become good friends.
She isn't so snobby like I taught.When we get to a small cafe I was thinking,must I tell Clara of my thread or should I
keep it to myself.Decididing not to let her get into my mess,I keep it to myself."So what's the deal ,with you and the
boss Em".
"What do you mean ",I asked her.I can feel the heat rising up into my chest."Oh girl ,don't you think we all can see the
fireworks,when you two are in the same room"."After the meeting I went to give him some paperwork to sign and he
was in the baddest moods I never seen him like that,...spill it girl".
Looking at Clara I said"you must be imagining things ,we just don't get along in very ways ,he is my boss but I think
he's rude".Clara was looking at me and started to laugh "oh my I can see what Leah is talking about...you protest to
much girl".I know see is right,but so help me god I will not admit I have feelings for my boss.While we chat on about
other stuff,she asked how about we go out to a club over the weekend."Yep count me in," I heard myself said.When
last was I out with friends after Daniel I withdraw myself from activities with people.
Heading back to the office,just as I was about to sit in my chair my phone started to buzz in my pocket.
Not recognising the number I answered"Emily speaking,how can I help you"?.
"Hi precious,did you get my letter ,just checking to make sure",the voice on the other end said.
"With who am I speaking,I don't know you or what you talking about".I said with a shaky voice."Babe ,don't do that ,
Daniel thought he got rid of me by dying,..I told him I will get my money either way"he said with a slippery
voice."How much money did he owe you,why do you want it from me "I can nearly hear my own voice ,it was much
like a squeak.
"Don't worry,babe $200 000 ,I sure you can make a plan.oh yeah don't tell the cops or your kids and sister will pay the
price.
And Emily You have a month time"than he hung up.I almost collapse tight there,where must I get that kind of money
o lord.i can see a panic attack coming on as I struggle to breathe and everything in my sight starting to feel like a haze.
"Emily, Emily are you alright,what is it.someone bring me some water please,"I heard someone speak but couldn't
concentrate on the voice .It played in my head your sister and kids all over again,I started to feel nausea rising up in
my throat.
After a few minutes,I look up and see lot of concern faces staring back at me."Sorry guys that I gave you such a big
fright,...Clara do you think the boss would mind if I go home early",I asked her."Clara would you please, bring miss
Emily stuff .I would see that she gets home safely ".
I jerked my head up wasn't even aware he was standing at the far side In my office."Sir ,I wouldn't mind but,I think I
can manage.Thank you for the offer.I still couldn't look him in the eyes.
Josh taught he was gonna drag her out there himself,when he heard Clara screaming at the stuff he almost got a heart
attack when he got to Emily office.See her sitting there she was as white as Mable look like she have seen a ghost.
After a few seconds he heard her say"Okay sir ,if it wouldn't ruin your schedule.I am very sorry,for disturbing you".As
they walk out in quietness,he can almost feel her shivering as she walk beside him.What could it be ,this is the second
time I see her like this.
When we finally get to my car ,she was standing like she didn't know where to go,just looking around."Emily,would
you please get in the car",I can sense my restraint is starting to slipped as I was getting angrier by the minute.
What would have upset her this much, and why do I feel like I must protect her.With irony I think to myself she
actually need protection from me ,if she must know what kind of man I was in my former life as I called it.Sighting
she get in the car when she looked up at me with tears in her eyes ,I just vowed there and then, I will look for who
ever did this.
"Thank you ,Josh" she said so soft I can nearly hear her.My heart was thundering in my chest I just wanted to hug her
and tell her everything would be okay.When we get into the traffick she asked"how will I get to work tomorrow,my
car is still there"."Don't worry I will pick you up,and Emily do know that you can trust me no matter what it is".
