INTRODUCTION
Have you attempted to discover how the epidemic has affected you personally,
particularly in terms of your performance and academics, as a researcher or as a
senior high student? I want to inform you of those things in my capacity as a
researcher so that you will understand what they are and the significance of the
research we will be performing.
Not only that, but similar to what happened previously, the impact on us was
difficult because the pandemic has made it challenging for us students,
particularly in our academics and performance because it is in our best interests
and we must maintain a sound mind, but the impact has not been easy for our
students because academics have problems and have not received enough
attention, and because it is crucial for their future success.
Why did we choose this topic for our research or as senior high students? Because
this type of research caught our attention, and as students, we want to reflect on
the impact it had on students who struggled, particularly in their academic and
performance. Because of the problem or its effect, and because you are the
reader of this chapter, we would like you to understand our chapter so that you
know what we want to explain.

Background of the Study

The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in school closings and social isolation, which presented
difficulties for teenagers' academic and emotional development. Schools worked hard to shift
courses online, but less effort was put into determining whether or not students were
emotionally and cognitively prepared to learn effectively in a virtual setting. In order to
determine their effects on students' academic performance during the COVID-19 period, this
study focused on two key constructs online learning readiness and emotional competence. The
findings revealed that, for high school students, both online learning readiness and emotional
competence were positively associated with online academic performance during COVID-19.
However, only online learning preparedness for college students shown a substantial positive
link with online academic performance throughout COVID-19.
These findings suggested that emotional maturity and readiness for online learning could help
teenagers be more robust to COVID-19-related obstacles and learn more efficiently online. This
study also emphasized several correlations between COVID-19 adolescent and young adult
online academic performance and cognitive, emotional, and other variables. The topic of
developmental implications was also covered.
A holistic approach to education that considers children's learning, social, and emotional needs
is crucial, especially during times of crisis. Children from different origins who are more
vulnerable may not receive the support and additional resources they require as a result of
school closures brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the gap between those pupils who
experience additional obstacles and those who do not may widen. The sentiments of self-worth
and belonging in a school, both of which are critical for inclusion in education, can also be
greatly impacted by closures
In order to further understand the current situation of senior high students in academics and
performance, this led the researcher to design and conduct this study. The purpose of this
study is to determine new knowledge in performance and academic emotions on the impact of
covid on senior high students

Statement of the Problem

This study aims to identify the new knowledge in performance and
academic emotions on the impact of covid on senior high students.
1.What are the impact of academic performance during this covid 19?
2. What is the importance of academic and performance of the participants?
3. Which difficulties for student academic and emotional?

Significance of Study
According to the research, this study will not only produce information that will be
useful to them and the following groups of people.
TO STUDENT. The South East-Asia Institute of Trade and Technology's students will be aware of
how the pandemic has affected their academic performance in their studies. They can also gain
from self-promotion of the topic by conducting extensive research and helping other students
who are conducting research by offering ideas and information on how the pandemic has
affected their research.
TO TEACHERS. teachers will know more about the impacts of the pandemic in academic
performance because they have experienced it and they can also help students who want to
know other effects of the pandemic that can give a statement that benefits students and others
researcher.
TO PARENTS. parents will know how the impact of the pandemic in academic performance has
affected their children so that they can be given early monitoring to help their children not lose
hope and to encourage their children in learning resist the impact of the pandemic to be able to
keep up with the parents who are guiding and supporting their children in the challenges of life
in studying during the pandemic.
Future Researcher. The future of the researcher will know about this topic the effect of the
pandemic on academic performance that will help them gain more research knowledge on this
topic to have an idea or knowledge to study it in the future.

Scope and Delimitation of the Study

The main purpose of this study is to determine the impact of pandemic in
academic performance of senior high school student in southeast Asia. This study
provides structure and routine to the lives of senior high school students.
The researchers aimed to the routine of getting up at a certain time, going to
classes at specific times and coming home at a certain time provides a sense of
normalcy in their lives based on some student in senior high. The researchers
limited the study to Grade 12 Student that currently enrolled in South East Asia
Institute of Trade and Technology.
The respondents will be limited to ten (10) Senior High Student for every strand in
South East Asia Institute. The student selected will answer a survey to have their
ideas about this study. Only Senior High School Student in South East Asia will be
able to capture their objective perspective and also the other Grade levels and
school are not covered for this Study.
Hypothesis
Our Prediction in this research the student will face numerous challenges, demands, and
turbulences that influence their well-being.

1.For example, they experience diverse social and economic pressures have to balance their education,
family, and work responsibilities.
2. And encounter social isolation, discrimination, language barriers, and cross-cultural differences
to successfully address these demands and succeed in their pursuit of education and a profession,
students at all levels of education and across all disciplines have to have timely and adequate
resources.
