SS visited their brother who works at a call center in Delhi and learned about the large call volume the center handles. The call center receives an average of 3,200 calls per day, which is equivalent to about 133 calls per hour, though the number may fluctuate between hours. SS realized they were confused about how to compute the probabilities of varying call volumes between hours.

SS: (^Excitedly) It was amazing! I actually went to Delhi to visit my brother. He
works there. SS: And guess what? I even learnt something new when I went on a tour of the call centre he works at. SS: (^Trying to sound smart) Firstly, I learned how the call centre handles hundreds of calls. SS: He then explained how the customer care service of other organisations are outsourced to them. SS: But, the volume of calls ... wow! They have to handle soooo many calls from all over the world at the same time. SS: My brother actually told me that on an average, the call centre receives 3,200 calls in a single day! TT: Oh that indeed is amazing! That’s like about ….. 133 calls an hour! SS: Exactly! That’s unbelievable, right? SS: (^Confused) What do you mean? SS: (^Still confused, suddenly realizes) Ummmm…. I know that it is possible that they would get only 50 calls in a particular hour. But, how do we compute such probabilities?
