    Task 1: Define the Term Client Brief [2]

    A document that a producer receives from a client which outlines the product that they would
    like to be produced.

    Task 2: Identify the different features you might need to include in a client brief [10]
    (Insert a copy of your mind map)

    Task 3: List the 6 different types of client brief and provide a definition for each [18]

    Type of Client Brief Definition


    Formal A scheduled meeting which will take place between the client and
    producer which will outline requirements. Written documentation of
    what happens within the meeting. Formal clothing

    Informal Discussing requirements over the phone or video call or local place. No
    documentation provided. Verbal agreement. Casual clothing.

    Negotiated A client and producer work together to produce a client brief for the
    overall project. Discussions take place between both parties where the
    aim and objectives are discussed

    Contractual A brief which is outlined with a agreement of which the producer can
    sign should they decide to take on the project.
    Name:

    Tender A client will publish an advert which outlines the media product that
    needs to be created. Will included a estimated cost , timeframe and
    details of the product process.

    commissioned a client will hire a separate independent media company to produce


    the product. The media company conducts there own research and
    propose a plan for the project. This is overseen by the representative
    from the client .

    (1 mark for each type of brief, 2 marks for each definition)

    Task 4: Read the client brief and answer the following questions:

    Who is the client? Welsh mocha


    What type of company do you work for? Creating digital graphics
    What have you been asked to create? Graphic image for t-shirts and log
    Who is the target audience? Aged from late teens to 40s. A high disposable
    income, an interest in relaxing with friends, or
    reading whilst drinking coffee or other
    refreshments.

    What is the timescale for the project? Two weeks


    What type of client brief is this likely to be? Contractual
