like to be produced.

Type of Client Brief Definition


Formal A scheduled meeting which will take place between the client and
producer which will outline requirements. Written documentation of
what happens within the meeting. Formal clothing

Informal Discussing requirements over the phone or video call or local place. No
documentation provided. Verbal agreement. Casual clothing.

Negotiated A client and producer work together to produce a client brief for the
overall project. Discussions take place between both parties where the
aim and objectives are discussed

Contractual A brief which is outlined with a agreement of which the producer can
sign should they decide to take on the project.

Tender A client will publish an advert which outlines the media product that
needs to be created. Will included a estimated cost , timeframe and
details of the product process.

commissioned a client will hire a separate independent media company to produce


the product. The media company conducts there own research and
propose a plan for the project. This is overseen by the representative
from the client .
