Students’Book: The Students’ Book has a starter unit and twenty core units.
See the ones that are included. Each unit is devoted to a teen-appeal topic and covers vocabulary,
grammar, pronunciation, functions, and skills development (reading, listening, speaking and writing).
At the back of the book there is a Vocabulary List together with a Grammar Reference and exercises
to extend grammar presentation and practice. The Review pages and Life Skills and Culture sections
are optional. Feel free to use them if time permits.

Speaking: The main purpose is fluency, not grammar accuracy, so encourage your students to interact
with their partners as naturally as possible. Give your students plenty of practice in the use of functions.

Listening: Listening practice is essential for students to understand, so make the most of it by using the
class audio CDs at all times.

Writing: Types of writing: see 2023 Types of writing for Teens and Adults on our website

Workbook: It is divided into units which correspond to those in the Students’ Book. The Workbook
provides additional reading, writing and listening practice of the language covered in the Student’s Book
units, and reinforces vocabulary. Make the most of the passages that are useful as a guide for writing
practice.

Teacher’s Book with Digital Pack:

The Teacher’s Book contains complete teaching notes for all the Student’s Book tasks, in addition to
answer keys and audio scripts. It also provides lesson ideas, warmers, coolers and extension tasks so that
you can manage mixed-ability classes and work with fast finishers. There are additional resources to
support and extend learning: Grammar worksheets (available at two levels of difficulty), Vocabulary
worksheets (available at two levels of difficulty), Review Games, Literature, Speaking, Writing and
Video worksheets, We strongly recommend that you use the Teacher’s Book and the Digital Pack. YOU
ACCESS THE MATERIAL IN THE TB BY CREATING AN ACCOUNT AS A TEACHER AT
CAMBRIDGE ONE https://www.cambridgeone.org/home. USE THE CODE IN THE TB.

Extensive Reading: Start with "A Little Trouble in Dublin" in July, as students will have more
knowledge of the language to deal with the story by that time. We advise to consult the Cambridge
English Readers website for free resources and a worksheet at www.cambridge.org/elt/readers.
We suggest you use the accompanying CD-ROM to help students to further develop their listening
skills and improve their vocabulary.

Please help your students develop their reading skills by encouraging them to read the story and
exploit it through different activities. By no means should you give them just a summary to study
by heart.

*For further grammar practice you may consult ‘Essential Grammar in Use’ (Elementary) by R. Murphy
and ‘Oxford English Grammar basic e-book´, by M. Swan and C. Walter.
