 Preparation of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly as well annual mine plans and forecasts
 Development of an Excel and Access based systems to track mined production reports,
rehandle stockpile inventory and train totals altogether for a mining production database
 Planning, supervision and monitoring of all grade control and mining activities through the
incorporation of inputs from various departments (Geology, Production scheduling and
Surveys)

the Technical Services Department, Shan Steel Sierra Leone Ltd Tonkolili Iron Ore Mines

Key Motive of the Internship


 To acquire first-hand experience in Unit Processes, Procedures, Analysis, Equipment and
the Operational activities of the different sections (Resource & mining geology, geo-tech,
hydro-geology, surveys and mine planning & design) within the technical services
department of the aforementioned company.
 A summarized report was later submitted to the Company in fulfillment of the award of
Bachelor of Engineering Honors Degree in Mining.
