Unit1

1.We can learn about someone by observing their communication and actions. In
their communication, they express gestures, facial expressions, and body postures.
Observing how they interact with others, treat their surroundings, and react in
different situations provides insights into their character. Through these
observations, we can gain a better understanding of who they are.
2. A situation that highlighted different aspects of my personality was during my
middle school years. I used to be a person lacking confidence, but in my class,
nobody volunteered for a storytelling competition. So, my teacher chose me to
participate. To not disappoint her trust, I made an effort to practice storytelling
with emotion. In the end, I won the third prize in the competition. I realized that I
am no longer as lacking in confidence as before.
3. I adjust my communication style based on the personality of the person I'm
interacting with. When I communicate with others, if they are attentive, show
interest, and their eyes focus on me, I will share more stories with them. However,
if they are not interested, look around, and show disinterest in talking to me, I will
try to end the conversation quickly.
4. Culture influences the expression of personality traits in various ways. The way
people use language, express opinions, and convey emotions often reflects their
cultural background. Additionally, non-verbal communication methods such as
gestures, facial expressions, and body posture may vary across cultures. The
importance placed on individualism versus collectivism, as well as the degree of
independence or interdependence within a community, can impact how individuals
express their personal characteristics. Notably, family relationships within a culture
can significantly shape an individual's personality. Furthermore, education plays a
crucial role in shaping attitudes, knowledge, and skills, forming a vital part of one's
personality traits.
5. I admire the dynamic, lively personalities and expressive voices of those around
me. I feel that I lack many important skills, especially in communication where I
haven't been able to attract others, and my voice lacks expressiveness. I also feel a
shortage of dynamism in my activities outside.

Unit2
1.To move information from short-term to long-term memory effectively, we can
use some helpful strategies. Firstly, we use recalling information over time to
strengthen our memory. Next, organize information into blocks or models to make
it easier to remember. Repeat the information and use it in various contexts to
reinforce learning. Lastly, find connections between new information and existing
knowledge to create strong links.
2.Some non-verbal cues that show I am actively listening to someone include
maintaining eye contact to demonstrate focus and interest, nodding to express
agreement. Additionally, I use facial expressions like a gentle smile or
emphasizing eye contact to show interest. I feel noticed and more comfortable
when others use these signals while I am speaking.
3.I wished I could have asked more questions during the university admission
counseling. At that time, I was researching the admission methods of the
universities I was interested in.
4. On the university admission counseling day, I had many things I didn't
understand about the college admission methods. However, after listening to the
teachers' presentations, I gained a clear understanding of the common university
admission methods. I remember that I passed and got into the major I desired.
5. To minimize distractions while trying to listen and absorb information in a
classroom or group setting, I typically turn off my mobile phone, pay attention to
taking notes, set specific goals for myself, and strive to focus on achieving those
goals during the study period.

Unit3
1.The connection between food and mental well-being is quite complex. Nutrients
play a crucial role in the development and functioning of the brain, influencing
cognition, memory, mood, and concentration. Stable blood sugar levels help
maintain emotional stability, while sugary foods may lead to feelings of fatigue
and stress. Food also affects the gut microbiota, creating favorable conditions for
beneficial bacteria, contributing to mood balance and stress reduction. Some foods
can stimulate the production of happiness-inducing hormones, while meals, dining
groups, and culinary traditions can create positive experiences and social bonding.
2. When dining out, I usually prioritize trying new dishes, local specialties, or
regional delicacies to experience the unique flavors of that area. I enjoy exploring
and experimenting with new foods to savor different tastes and immerse myself in
new cultures.
3. Besides the food, factors that contribute to a positive dining experience for me
include an impressive, comfortable, and fitting ambiance. The attentive and caring
service from the staff is crucial. Additionally, enjoying a variety of dishes,
beautifully presented and especially sharing the meal with family members,
enhances the overall joy of the dining experience.
4. A familiar dish that brings back special memories for me is "Banh Tet." Every
Tet holiday, as the Lunar New Year approaches, everyone in the family gathers to
make these traditional cakes. On New Year's Eve, we come together to wrap the
cakes and share stories around the Banh Tet pot.

Unit 4
1. The skills I aim to develop as I pursue my dreams are, firstly, time management
skills. This skill is crucial for me to work efficiently. Following that is
communication skills, as effective communication will provide me with more
opportunities. Additionally, I aspire to maintain robust health because mental well-
being is essential to face challenges and keep a positive mindset .
2. Passion, ambition, self-belief, and personal growth have internally driven me to
pursue my goals and dreams.
3.External factors such as admiring highly skilled individuals around me and
aspiring to be like them, the desire to contribute to the prosperity of my homeland,
and the aim to make my family proud have motivated me to achieve my goals.
4. Learning from the experiences and achievements of others can have a positive
impact on my motivation. When I see them face failure, I seek the reasons behind
their setbacks and extract lessons for myself. Conversely, I look at their successes
to create motivation for myself to strive towards.
5. If I receive feedback from someone, I will attentively listen, positively accept it,
ask myself questions, and seek solutions. It helps me improve myself and makes
my work more refined.
