Look at the title. What did you think the story was about?
Why?

I think it can deal with certain problems that are the

main panorama that covers the present story as a family
that has problems in its daily life and that harms its
daily activities because with the title of house taken I
understand it as that for some reason it influences the
peace that a home should have.

While reading.

Who are the characters? What are their motives?

The characters are Maria Esther, Irene and the house

because they are participants for the flow of the history.

Where and when do you notice a change in the story?

History changed when they remembered what it was like

before the distribution of the house, in terms of the
functions of each part of the house, which was a little
disturbing because you entered the house through a
brothel.
What happened in the story? Summarize it.
The story tells about the memories they had of the layout
of the house in those times when it was shared with a
brothel, where they had to pass through to get to their
house and they had to close part of the house so as not
to have the inconvenience of passing through this place.
I felt ashamed, this also helped to make cleaning less
and more peaceful since this way they could enjoy more
time at home cooking in peace and having dinner at night
with cold dishes and apparently Irene would be the
happiest because she would have more time to knit.
How do you interpret the story?
I would interpret the story where 2 sisters of the family
tell about moments they had in their past in a house
where they had to go through a brothel to enter their
home, however they felt ashamed for having to go through
this uncomfortable moment, but in the long run they were
able to solve it.
What would your reaction or perspective be if you were in
the opposite side of the story?
I would think that it is a disturbing story because I
would never think that a story of daily life is about a
life next to a prostitute and that the girls who lived in
this house could think that they were also part of this
business, besides, I could also relate it to the shame
they felt to imagine and think the above mentioned.

How could the story have ended differently? Could the
story be interpreted differently?
I think it could end with a happy ending where the
members of the story tell that after the event they
had, they moved forward, for example by investing in a
business to get out of this place that brought
difficult memories in their lives and have a better
quality of life, however the interpretation of

different as a story of overcoming life.
What are the strengths of the argument? What are the
weaknesses of the argument?
The strengths of my previous answer could be the twist
that I would give to the story already told and that it
could be taken as a story of family overcoming and
could be recognized in the world as such and also, the
combination of types of story as thriller, overcoming
and reality. As for the weaknesses could be the
interest that readers have on this story because it
would be aimed at a very small audience.
Can you compare the story with another one that you
know?

I think I had never read a true story combined with

thriller and suspense because of the way it is told,
but if I had to compare it I could compare it to movie
books like paranormal activity because of the events
mentioned in the story since everything revolves around
his house.

What would you ask the author about? Why?

I would ask him the reason for writing such a real

story and if it is not a personal story if someone told
him about it and he thought it was interesting and that
is why he wrote it and published it.

I think the story changes when they plan to murder the

The novel is about a couple of lovers who meet in a cabin.
First the woman enters and then her lover, with a wound on
her face from a cut branch. The woman kisses him, but he
rejects her. Together, they plan to murder the woman's
husband: they prepare his alibis and analyze each step to
avoid mistakes. As night falls, they go over the plan
carefully. The woman and the man separate at the door of
the cabin. According to his plan, the butler did not have
to be at the scene of the crime at that time, and that was
the case: he was not there. The dog didn't bark either.
The man climbed the porch stairs and entered the house,
nervously remembering his companion's words about what he
would find: first, a blue room; then, a gallery, a
staircase, two rooms and a door. The man holds a dagger in

How do you interpret the story?
I think the story is a little overwhelming for me
because of the way the story is told where it is about a
murder plot, however I think the plot is very good
because it trapped me in the story.

I think it leaves many things open because it defines
whether the planned murder is achieved or not, it talks
in detail about each act about the things that were on
the scene to imagine but in the end we are left wondering
if it happens or not, perhaps for finish making
everything clear, everyone would have declared if it was
achieved.
Can you compare the story with another one that you
know?
No, because I don't know or read other stories of this
genre.
What would you ask the author about? Why?
Because he likes to express this type of story in his
stories. What is the objective you seek to
provide to readers.

REFLECTION
In the advanced course 11 I think I learned a lot because
although I personally do not like to read much, but with
the course I became a little more interested because
they were interesting topics that hooked me to
continue finding out and finding new knowledge that I
did not know. As for the readings, I feel that I did well
because I learned to use new grammatical vocabulary
that I had studied in previous courses, but it helped me
by deepening more in my knowledge acquired so far.
On the other hand, the writings helped me to continue
improving my writing and flow of ideas at the time of
writing what was required by the professor. I also feel
that they are topics that help me to think a lot and
reflect based on the topics that are very real and
current.
