pursuit of a master’s degree in environmental engineering at the University of Wollongong, I am
excited to bring my academic and professional experience to a dynamic organisation like Stantec.
Throughout my undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering, I developed a solid foundation in
engineering principles, problem-solving, and leadership skills. This degree not only honed my
technical skills but also instilled in me a passion for sustainable solutions and a keen interest in the
environmental aspects of engineering.
My decision to pursue a master’s in environmental engineering stems from a desire to further
specialise in areas where I believe I can make a meaningful impact by designing eco-friendly
equipment to control environmental issues. This will allow me to combine the knowledge of my
undergraduate and post-graduate studies. I am in the final year of my post-graduate study, and I have
focused my research and coursework on topics such as sustainable energy technology design, water
resource management, and environmental impact assessment of coastal impoundments. My academic
experiences in Environmental Engineering have assisted me in gaining a strong grasp of
environmental regulations, sustainability practices, and innovative technologies in the field.
My background also includes working as a Technical Assistant at an Alternative energy promotion
centre in Nepal, where I gained hands-on experience in conducting environmental impact of air
pollution and drafting impact reports through surveys. These experiences have sharpened my
communication skills, enabling me to effectively convey technical information to both technical and
non-technical audiences. Furthermore, my work experience in the Sugar Industry as a maintenance
engineer has helped me develop basic preventive maintenance and problem-solving skills. I firmly
believe that these skills will be a valuable addition to Stantec and its commitment to creating
sustainable solutions for various environmental problems.
