Context: “A year of changes ”


1-Objectives:

● Produce the following vocabulary items: sunny ,snowy ,cloudy,


windy ,rainy,hot,cold,summer, winter, spring, autumn
● Talk and write about the weather and seasons of the year.

2. Grammar:

● What's the weather like? It is sunny. It is cloudy


● What season is it? It’s summer. It's winter.

3. Vocabulary:

● Recycled vocabulary about the weather and seasons.

4. Topics:

● Students will talk and write about: The weather and seasons.

5. Materials:

● Pictures
● Worksheet
● Tv
● Video
● Board.

6. Development or Procedure:

Warm up or Motivation

● The teacher will show students the same poster from the previous
class. Then, she will ask if they remember what they learnt in the
last class. She will also ask about the names of the seasons. Then
she will paste letters on the board related to the name of each
season. She will ask for four volunteers to come to the front and
try to reorder the letter and paste below the corresponding
picture of the tree.

● Instructions: The teacher will greet students: Good morning


children! How are you today? The students will answer and
the teacher will say that she is fine. Then she will paste the
poster from the previous class on the board. Then, she will
ask them : Do you remember this picture? What are they? Do
you remember the names of each one?
● Then she will ask for four volunteers. She will paste letters
on the board and will ask students to reorder the letters in
order to form the correct name of each season; she will also
ask them to paste them below the correct picture.

Estimated time: 10 minutes.

a) Presentation of the topic:

● Oral Presentation:

After the warm up, the teacher will show students a powerpoint
presentation about seasons. This presentation will contain the name of
each season, some pictures of each one, the weather and the months
that the season lasts. While she shows them the different slides she will
ask them : What is this? What’s the weather like? What season is it? In
which month are we in winter/spring/summer/ autumn?

● Instructions:

The teacher will turn on the TV and connect the computer to show
a PowerPoint presentation. Then,she will ask students: "What is
this? What’s the weather like? What season is it? In which month
are we in winter/spring/summer/autumn? She will ask these
questions in each season.
Estimated Time: 15 minutes

b) Practice or Activities:

● The teacher will give students a short quiz. Students will answer all
the questions and then they will give it back to the
teacher.The teacher will ask students if the quiz was
difficult or easy. Then she will review the quiz activity by

activity with oral work. .

c) Production/ reinforcement:(oral or written)

● After the quiz, the teacher will ask students to complete the
calendar according to the knowledge acquired in the previous
lesson. Then , she will ask to draw their favorite season and they
will write how the weather is like in his/her season. The teacher
will provide a sentence as an example.

d) Rounding off:

● Students will play a guessing game about the weather and


seasons in groups. Each row is a group.

Instructions:The teacher will play a video on the TV. This video


contains a guessing game about the weather. She will explain to
them that they have to pay attention to the images and sounds
and they will try to guess what the weather is like.
