Final Project

For the final project of this block, you are required to make a 3 minutes
audio about meeting a new friend using some of the language functions
learned previously. Your performance needs to be a dialogue that includes
the following:

• Statements, Yes/No, and information questions with the verb to be in present


and in past.
• Affirmative, negative and interrogative (Yes/No and Wh- Questions)
sentences in Simple Present Tense and Simple Past Tense, Present
Progressive, Going to, and the modal can/can’t
• Hobbies
• Family
• Personal interests
• Job/school
• Ordinal numbers
• Object Pronouns

Write on a Word document your dialogue and rehearse it with your partner before
you record yourselves. Remember you can ask your facilitator if you have doubts
(grammar, lexis or pronunciation).

Record your voice and save it in a file you can upload in the platform. Be careful it
most be compatible so that your facilitator can unload it.

Hello everyone, in this video I am going to show you how to make a conversation for the first
time to meet a new friend.

—Hi there! Are you new around here?

— Yes, I just moved in a few weeks ago.

—Cool! I'm Aldair. And you are?

—I'm Luis. Nice to meet you, Aldair.

— me too, Luis. How's your day been?

— Pretty good, thanks. I explored the city a bit. How about yours?

— Mine was busy at work, but I like to explore new places on weekends.

—Where do you work?

—I am a Sax player. And you?

— I'm in college, wrapping up my final year in engineering.

—Impressive! Do you have any hobbies or interests you enjoy?

— Yeah, I love playing the guitar and playing soccer. How about you?

— Oh, that sounds great. I love play Sax and listen music

— Have you had the chance to meet many people since you arrived?

— Yeah, a bit. Still getting to know more folks. Do you have any brothers or
sisters?

—I have an older sister. What about you?

—I have four brothers. Does your family live nearby?

— No, they live in another city. I miss family gatherings. How about yours?

—My family lives here

—Interesting. Any plans for the weekend?

— Yeah, thinking of catching a movie. Would you like to join?

—Sure! I love movies. What time and which cinema?


Final Project
— Let's aim for Saturday at 7 at the downtown cinema. Does that work for
you?

—Perfect. See you on Saturday then!
