PAST TENSE: REGULAR AND IRREGULAR VERBS

The past simple is used to talk about finished
actions in the past.
I lived in Rome for 3 years.
It is also used to talk about actions that
happened one after another.
He arrived home, turned on the TV and sat
down.
We form the past simple of regular verbs
adding the suffix –ed to the base form.

Irregular verbs don´t follow this rule as they
have a special form for the past simple:

We form the negative of the past simple using
didn’t before the base form of the verb. This
rule is for both regular and irregular verbs.
