1. What are the significance of working drawings in Building Constructions? Please

elaborate/ cite examples. (Min. of 100 words)

Working drawings are made by the Architect and is the blueprint or instructions to follow
while building a project. As every detail is important, it is important to follow these elements
in the design to be precise and would have no errors. For example, it is very important to follow
the exact details given for the Toilet and Bathroom. The slope of the floor to direct the water
to the drain is very important, or else wet floors can be hazardous to the users. Next would be
following the exact measurements for the stairs. Any more or less than what is given can have
a great impact on the design and safety of the stairs; to the hand railing or each rise and run.
Not following it could be a tripping hazard. There are many important factors in why working
drawings are important, that is why while still making the plan, it is important to be precise
and accurate for the future project to be deemed habitable and safe.

2. Upon undergoing community quarantine for majority of the semester what are your
reflection/ learning with regards to the importance of BT 2 Subject to your life as
architecture Students. (Min. of 100 words)

Experiencing the community quarantine and online classes, it was hard for me to fully
understand not only this subject as it requires deeper guidance by the professor. Building
Technology 2 is one of the most important subjects in our Architectural course. Because we
are being trained to be competent Architects in practice that make safe and legible drawings in
real life. Building Technology made me realize that every aspect of the designed is measured
and thought out, to the smallest details of the stairs to the biggest details of the façade of the
building. And that architecture is not only just beautiful buildings, but a collection of small
details that eventually make this design.
