Dear Part Three Engineering Students,

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for you to participate in the design and
development of a dam and a mini hydro power station. The aim of the project is to provide
a sustainable and clean source of energy for farmers in Zimbabwe and beyond.
The project involves various engineering disciplines, such as civil, survey, mechanical,
electrical, geological, environmental, and materials engineering. Each discipline has a
specific role and responsibility in the planning, design, construction, operation, and
maintenance of the dam and the power station. You will have the chance to apply your
theoretical knowledge and practical skills to a real-world problem, as well as to learn from
the experts and mentors in the field.
Before the actual project commences, you will also have the opportunity to work on a
prototype of the dam and the power station, using a scaled-down model and simulation
software. This will help you to test your ideas, evaluate your design, and identify any
potential challenges or improvements.

This is an open invitation and we welcome applications from all part three engineering
students. However, we will only select a limited number of students based on their
academic performance, motivation, and suitability for the project. Therefore, we encourage
you to apply as soon as possible and to demonstrate your understanding and passion for the
discipline you choose.
