LE V EL 1 – RE A DING WORK SHEE T: Business

READING
Read the text about Paulette. Why does Paulette like her job?

Work Hard, Play Hard

Hi! I’m Paulette Gomes and I am the human resources manager at InterWorldFin. I’m from Quito, Ecuador,
and now I live in São Paulo, Brazil. My job is very interesting. It is hard work, but I enjoy it. It’s good to work
for a large company, and InterWorldFin is very large. I work in São Paulo, but sometimes I travel to the US
on business. I learn a lot and I meet a lot of interesting people. I speak Spanish, Quechua, and English.
I need English to speak with people in our New York office.
I also have a life away from the office! My hobbies are samba dancing and running. I run 10 kilometers
to the office every day. I take a shower there, and I am at my desk by 8:30 a.m. In the evening, I cook.
My favorite dish is shrimp ceviche. In my family, my nickname is “little shrimp”!
