7. A farmer has a piece of land. He observed that the got 600 units of fruits per tree by planting up to 25trees
and when 26 trees were grown, he received 15210 units of fruits, for 27 trees he ended up with 15390
fruits for 28 trees, he got 15540 fruits and this sequence of production continue in the same pattern as
more trees in excess of 25 were grown.
Based on the above information, answer the following questions :
(i) if ' x ' more trees, in excess of 25 are grown, then find the number of fruits produced per tree.

Find the production of entire garden, if ‘x’ more trees, in excess of 25 are planted.
(ii) Find the marginal production of the garden, when ‘x’ more trees, in excess of 25 are planted.

8. A cable network provider in a small town has 500 subscribers and he used to collect Rs. 300 per month
from each subscriber. He proposes to increase the monthly charges and it is believed from past experience
that for every increase of Rs.1, one subscriber will discontinue the service.
Based on the above information, answer the following questions
(i) I f Rs. X is the monthly increase in subscription amount, then find the number of subscribers.
(ii) Find total revenue R (in Rs)
(iii) Find the number of subscribers which gives the maximum revenue.

9. The fuel cost per hour for running a train is proportional to the square of the speed it generates in km
per hour. If the fuel costs Rs. 48 per hour at speed 16 km per hour and the fixed charges to run the train
amount to Rs. 1200 per hour.

(i) Given that the fuel cost per hour is K times the square of the speed the train generates in km/h.

21. Systematic approach to the theory of calculus began in the 17th century. Newton began his work on the calculus
described by him as the theory of fluxions and used his theory in finding the tangent and radius of curvature at any
point on a curve. Newton introduced the anti-derivative (indefinite integrals ) or the inverse method of tangents. The
discovery that differentiation and integration are inverse operations belongs to Newton and Leibnitz.
The formulae of elementary geometry allow us to calculate areas of many simple figures, however, they are
inadequate for calculating the areas enclosed by curves, for that, we need some concepts of integral calculus.

At an instant, the coordinates of the position of coast guard helicopter and boat are at the points A(2, 3, 5) and
B(1, 4, 2) respectively.
(i) Write the direction cosines of line AB.
(ii) When the position of coast guard helicopter is at the point C(1, 0, -3), then the position of the boat is at the point

38. A sate Govt. passes a bill in its assembly which makes it compulsory for all male drivers in three categories-cyclists,
Scooter drivers and car drivers – to buy insurance policy from the state owned insurance company.
The insurance company insured 2000 cyclists, 4000 scooter drivers and 6000 car drivers. The probability of an accident
involving a cyclist, scooter driver and a car driver are 0.01, 0.03 and 0.15 respectively. One of the insured persons
meets with an accident.
