SUSTAINABILITY COACH

PROJECT GUIDELINES

Prelude
This project is a compulsory part of the Sustainability Coach Certification program. It will be evaluated
alongside other assessments in order to complete your certification program.

The project has two components:

1. Impact Report
2. Impact Session

I. Guidelines for Impact Report:

The project report is intended to measure impact of a product/ service/ intervention on sustainability &
assess it from ESG perspective.

An Impact Report (upto 5000 words) includes the following:

a. A detailed description of product/ service/ intervention


Description of the product/ service/ intervention. Provide the details such as features, where is it being
used, end users, how it is delivered, milestones, overall value proposition, and industry overview.

b. Analysis (indicative but not limited to):

• Alignment with SDGs and targets:


Which SDGs does the intervention align with? How does the intervention help in achieving the targets of
SDGs?
• Impact on each of the components in ESG:
What is the impact of intervention on climate change, water, human rights, product safety, inclusive growth
etc.? Divide the impact across E, S and G factors.

• Alignment with organisation’s strategy


(provide details in report only if relevant information is available)
How does the intervention align with the overall strategy and objectives of the organisation?

• Financial performance and comparative analysis with competitors


(provide details in report only if relevant information is available):
Has the intervention helped organisation to improve profitability, get more funding, reduce cost etc.? Has
the intervention helped organisation to financially perform better as compared to its competitors?

• Conclusions and Suggestions:


With your original thought process, write concluding statements with the support of data analysis in
Section d. Suggestions could include how the organisation can improvise intervention and fill the gap, if
any, and whether the intervention can be adopted across the industry.

• References:
Follow APA style while providing citations.

• Appendices:
Appendices contain material which helps your argument but may not be justified being given in the
report. It is material that provides background information to your project work.

II. Guidelines for Impact Report:


The learners are expected to conduct a three-hour session creating awareness about sustainability and
SDGs. The learner needs to submit a report of the session. The report includes overall summary of the
session and a self-reflection of how the session helped participants understand sustainability. The report
should not be more than two pages. The entire session needs to be recorded and submitted for
evaluation.

The content and other guidelines of the session are indicated below:

A. Content:

i. Sustainability Quotient (SQ):

ii. About UN SDGs:


Evolution of Sustainability, MDGs, SDGs and current status of each SDGs

iii. Presenting Impact study findings:


Brief overview of your impact project. Explain the intervention and its key impact.
iv. Best Practices of Sustainability:
Select three companies and explain how sustainability is integrated in the organisation.

v. Commitment towards sustainability by the participants:


After the session is completed, you are expected to record the commitment of participants towards
sustainability.

B. Guidelines:

i. Minimum number of attendees is 10.

ii. The audience for the session could be anybody above 18 years of age.

iii. Viva Voce


The evaluation will be through viva-voce carrying 100 marks for the Impact Study report and 100
marks for the session.
