LECTURE (STEM)

Work Immersion
Second Semester
School Year 2023-2024

NARRATIVE REPORT

This day was first lecture zoom meeting attending as a Work Immersion teacher in in the month
of February. I was tasked to monitor the attendance of the sections I handled which are the 12
STEM 1-4. I was excited and at the same time I was curious about what to expect and I might
learn in the orientation. I entered the zoom meeting a little too early which was I was the only
one in there together with the host. There are lots of students from different campuses of
Arellano University.

The meeting was a little bit late to start maybe because they are still waiting for more students to
join. Suddenly as the host is trying to start the orientation there was a student that is vandalizing
on the presented screen then was called out by the host by giving him/her a warning. The
orientation then started, and the first topic was all about personality development seminar. The
pre-recorded video that is presented was containing definition of personality development,
personality development key points, and personal growth tips. The topic was heavily focus on
the key points which contained the characteristics of an employer and the growth tips on how can
you as an employer be more calm and ready when applying for a job. There are also Do’s and
Don’ts in what you can and cannot do in an interview. Next topic was all about the role of
research in today’s situation. I think the topic was really meant for my STEM students since the
research will be their culminating activity for the work immersion subject. The discussion was
about research literally and how this can help us on applying it on our own research topics.

This day I learned so many on the orientation just like the interviewers’ questions, the
expectations you might face when you are being interviewed, and also the industry 4.0 which
was very new to my ears because that was the first time I heard that word. I also learned the
research and intellectual property which was focused on patents, copyrights, and trademarks. The
speaker also provided some research related sources that can be beneficial for us researchers
when we cite our references for our research topic. Overall, the lecture was very helpful for the
students especially after SHS they will be enrolling in colleges and it will guide them in their
studies. As a teacher and a life-long learner, this lecture is a big help for me to have more
knowledge that I could share to my students in the future

INTRODUCTION

With the work immersion orientation, which took place from January 2–6, 2024, the class set out
on an exciting journey. The primary objective of the subject was to provide participants with a
comprehensive grasp of the work immersion program, its objectives, and their responsibilities
and tasks.

DISCUSSION

An overview of the work immersion program was given to us, outlining its goals, advantages,
and expected results. Our instructor went through the last instruction, the place we would be
going, the kind of work we would be performing, and the lessons we ought to learn from the
experience. In addition, we discuss our culminating activity.

1. Panguil River Eco Park - The great place for the students environmental teaching
sessions. All STEM students shall participate in team-building activities, practical
activities, and an exploration of the local biodiversity in just 30 minutes. The tour fosters
a respect for the natural world and community development while integrating academic
learning.

2. Culminating Activity - They have to arranged the scientific investigatory project's

culminating event to occur only on school grounds. To demonstrate the breadth of their
research and the importance of their conclusions, the students will be expected to present
and defend their research projects during this event.
CONCLUSION

The work immersion orientation's visit to Panguil River Eco Park, with its emphasis on
environmental education, gave participants an understanding of the program's goals. The final
project showed how dedicated the students were to their scientific study projects. As the
classroom facilitator, it is my responsibility to ensure that each student has a good time and to
foster their intellectual and practical growth.
